After the fact: Community-Rated Top 10 Sunset Shimmer Stories of 2017 · 2:43am Sep 24th, 2017
A little late, but life has kept me busy...
So Novel-Idea organized the Community-Rated Top 10 Sunset Shimmer Stories of 2017! contest, in which there was no decided "Top Story" out of the ten, but they were all submitted by members of our community (no self-promoting) and later on, the selections were showcased in Equestria Daily!
And out of all the wonderful Sunset stories here that qualified, my own story Gunsmoke, made it to there! Not only am I still humbled by having my story submitted, but the fact that it was voted in with other amazing stories is truly amazing and it makes me very grateful to all my readers... it's always nice to have a story you wrote recognized by your peers as an enjoyable experience.
So, again, thank you all who voted for doing so—and thank you Novel-Idea for increasing my to-read list by about 8 stories more. You guys should check them out!

I'm still trying to see what all the nominees were. Novel-Idea never linked them in his blog, and the survey is closed, so I can't see them there.
Glad to see you made it. I was a little dismayed at the number of repeat authors on the list, as it would have been nice to spread the wealth, but at least they got you.
4677037 Thank you! I'm just glad it people liked it! Kinda like PC wrote down, there's a lot of animosity towards SAO, so seeing past that little connection might have tested some readers.
4677049 Absolutely! I think there's a LOT of amazing Sunset stories out there, and they just need a bit more attention! The final ten are of course in EqD, but we should encourage recommendations among readers!

Gunsmoke is amazing. 
It actually made me want to watch SAO. I watched the first season and It's not bad, but yeah, Gunsmoke is better.
I'm still wondering how exactly Sunset kept the ability to transform into Mirage at the end of Gunsmoke. A sequel would be very appreciated.

Congratulations! Of all the stories, this was the one I definitely wanted to win the most. My first thought when I read the nomination rules was “Damn it, Gunsmoke doesn’t qualify,” but I checked when it was finished, and it counted.

Yeah, I sadly realized the repeat author problem too late to change it (it would have been within a few hours of closing the polls). That definitely is an error I do not intend to make next year!
