My fellow Spike harem supporters, I issue a challenge to anyone willing to write a new Spike harem idea I have in mind. For starters it can be either anthro or human, but has to be rated M for sex and have them at the appropriate age. Now for my idea.
Spike Scale is a young man (or anthro dragon however you want to do it) who always dreamed of traveling the seas in search for adventure. Then through some unforeseen turn of events he ends up becoming a passenger and crew mate on a Pirate ship led by the Eight Jewels of the Sea. Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Sunset Shimmer, and Starlight Glimmer. Spike travels across the sea to various other lands for adventure, treasure, knowledge, and other things while avoiding the law and rivaling pirates like the Shadow Bolts composed of Sunny Flare, Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Sugarcoat, and Lemon Zest. The setting would take place during the days of piracy like in Pirates of the Caribbean, and Spike will attract the eight glittering jewels who want to be with him.
Here would be the girls roles on ship.
Twilight Sparkle: Captain
Sunset Shimmer: First mate
Starlight Glimmer: Navigator
Pinkie Pie: Cook
Rarity: Tailor
Fluttershy: Doctor
Rainbow Dash: Cannoneer
Applejack: Carpenter
Spike: Cabin boy
Though they have positions that don't require fighting, they do in fact know how to fight with pistols or swords. For anyone interested in writing this let me know and if have any further questions I will answer as best i can.

I am planning on calling my take on this idea, " Spike's Adventures on the High Seas." I will also include Bob Nightwalker and Patrick Moonbeam as Spike's best friends/sidekicks. There may also be similar story-lines from Treasure Planet, Peter Pan (2003) and Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.

This reminds me of an idea for a fic I had not too long ago, but it was set in a feudal Japan-type setting.
This idea has a lot of potential
I might take this challenge. If I do a story like this, I may include Trixie as Spike's childhood friend who shares his dream of adventure.
