Post-mortem (A Cheerful One!)

Important Wizard just fell out of the feature box, after sitting in there for a staggering five days.

When I released it, I had a feeling it might hover around the the bottom of the feature box for a day or so before fizzling out, maybe accumulate around fifty upvotes, five hundred views or so. I would have counted that as a pretty worthwhile success.

As of now, the story stands at a 217:10 ratio, and has accumulated almost two thousand views! That's pretty damn crazy, and there's no way whatsoever that I was expecting it, I barely knew how to react to it! Not to mention the fact that I've gained almost twenty new followers in the last week, which is brilliant! I hope to keep you all entertained as best I can.

One last time, I'd like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who read my story, whether they see this or not, but especially those who thought enough of it to follow me. You guys are awesome. Honestly, everyone's positive reactions and kind words are just motivation to write more! I doubt I'll be hitting the feature box again any time soon though.

So, let's assume you've just started following me, and you're wondering just how my schedule works, and what I have to offer? I'll make an effort here to list the things I currently do on Fimfic, and what I'm planning to do in the future!

First off, I write longfics. Well, you can expect them to be at least novel sized when they're done. As of now, I have three going on at once, none of them are especially well known, but that doesn't deter me! I enjoy writing them very much, and have full intentions of finishing all three!

So, what are my ongoing stories all about?

There's Order by Destruction, a pre-season two adventure epic following Rainbow Dash, Luna, and Discord as they secretly battle ancient creatures in an effort to save Equestria! (Even Celestia doesn't know.)

This story's still on its first legs, but you can expect drama, laughs, action, suspense, mystery, exploration... Everything you're looking for in an epic, right? It's been generally well received so far, so feel free to go and check it out!

Next, there's Close the Curtains, There's a Breeze. This is a Zephyr x Rainbow ship fic with a twist, the twist being that it doesn't follow the usual conventions of romance stories. Imagine following a very confused Rainbow Dash on a journey of steadily increasing bewilderment! She's got no clue what's going on, why she's having the thoughts she has, or what she can do about them, but you know she's gonna try everything in the book anyway! (And maybe a few things that aren't in there.)

Finally, there's Big Tavi Lil Tavi Cardboard Box. This story is an introspective view on Vinyl Scratch's life, with some focus on Octavia also. In this story, we watch a secluded mare attempt to drop her facade and open herself up to others. Along the way, she'll make friends, learn important lessons, confront past demons, and try to make a positive change in her life!

Big Tavi Lil Tavi Cardboard Box is in dire need of editing. Now, because I'm stretched thin over three stories at once right now, amongst other things, I've not been able to get to the editing, and as such haven't updated it in a while. I'm going to try and find an editor as best I can, but if I'm still having issues after looking about, I'll make some time to do it myself. I want to start updating all three again.

Speaking of updates, they're sporadic. Looking at any of my stories will tell you that. Now, the good news is that I like to write quite often, and sometimes my creative burst equate to five or more story chapters in a week! Lots of content for you, should you be inclined to read it. Only thing is, I'm terrible at keeping to a strict schedule, and if I suddenly find myself motivated to write five updates for one story in a week, another might suffer for it. Also, if I suddenly decide to write a oneshot, I'll usually take a couple/few days off writing afterwards.

About oneshots, if you're thinking 'hey, I came here because of a oneshot, aren't you going to write any?', I can assure you that I will. I can't guarantee they'll be written very frequently until at least one of my ongoing stories is finished, but I can't help writing a strong idea when I have one, so you'll likely see them often enough. I've already got four on my account, so if you need your fix of short stories, go check one out!

Now, as for what else I've got on the cards, I'm going to be involved in a collab soon! Not gonna reveal any details now, but it should be really fun, I'm quite excited to participate. Also, I've told Chris (One Man's Pony Ramblings) that I'll write a guest blog on his blogspot for August, so there's that to do! I'll definitely try and get on that soon. (Best way to deal with deadlines is be finished a week in advance.)

Also, I'm doing commissions right now, so if you see me online at times and think 'hey, where's my story update?', remember I might be doing that! Although, saying that, I'm currently working out a commission with another user that I should be able to start writing and posting at some point soon! I'll not say too much on it, just that it involves a rare character combination, which, of course, are the best combinations!

Oh yeah, Important Wizard should be getting a short review from Present Perfect soon! I'll be looking forward to that, whatever the result!
