The Conclusion of Artist Among Animals, and What's Next · 4:15pm Jul 13th, 2017
I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the readers who stuck with Artist Among Animals despite my less-than-timely update schedule. This story has been a really wonderful experience for me, and I'm happy that I was able to share it with you all.
With that story concluded, I'll be moving back into the realm of short stories for awhile. I'll be releasing a new one-shot tomorrow about the long arm of the Royal Guard and its response to a minor dragon incursion, entitled "Zen at Six Thousand Lengths." I'll also be showcasing a non-pony short story about American folk singers on the blog within the coming week. I've also dipped my toes into the competitive writeoff scene, and though my first entry was abysmal I had a ton of fun. In many ways the writeoff group reminds me of the way fimfiction was when I first joined in 2011. The community was small, everyone knew everyone, and though most of us didn't really know what we were doing we stumbled into the dark together and made some really cool stuff in the process! It's so cool to feel that collegiate vibe again.
In lesser news, those of you in the Midwest area may know about the storms that have recently flooded out large portions of northern Illinois. Unfortunately my basement was flooded, but my drums and audio recording equipment (and my ping pong table, can't forget about that!) are all safe. Once new carpet comes in, I'll be right back to my old tricks. Anyone want to collab?
