Important Announcement: "Aunt Millie" and "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" are NOT canon to each other anymore!

I just wrote a very important blog entry for "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity", the spiritual successor of "Aunt Millie". The informations inside pertain to "Aunt Millie" as well and are important to avoid any false assumptions about connections between these two fics.
Since I know that not everyone who read "Aunt Millie" is reading "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" as well, I give you a heads-up about this, too:

As you might remember, I announced that "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" is set in the same universe as "Aunt Millie" and, therefore, canon to it.
This has now been rescinded.
The main reason for that is, that I realized what I will reveal later about Dinky's problem in "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" does simply not add up with the things I have written in "Aunt Millie". I obviously can't tell you what that reveal is here, since you might be reading this fic right now, but, it adds some epic aspect to her life that just clashes with the normal and rather ordinary life of Dinky that I described in "Aunt Millie".
"Epic Secret Dinky" and "Slice of Life Dinky" just don't go well together, so I have separated them again.

Another reason is, the thing I'm going to reveal was entirely made up for "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity". We have seen Dinky with a temporary cutie mark in the show a few times and I have my theory about why that is the case with her, but, it's something entirely different and a lot less exciting than what I'm planning with this fic.
And the way I described Dinky in "Aunt Millie" is how I think Dinky actually is, in Equestria, based on my analyzings of her personality, so my actual theory about her temporary cutie marks applies to "Aunt Millie" as well, obviously (even though it's not relevant to the plot of "Aunt Millie" and not mentioned in it), which makes it impossible for the plan I'm having with "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" to work in "Aunt Millie"'s universe.

And, finally, the last reason is the fact that I had not yet analyzed Dinky's personality when I started writing "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" in November 2015.
Up until this point, I had never spent much time thinking about how Dinky's personality is. I read a few fics starring her, but I never actually analyzed the personality of the actual Dinky who lives in Equestria and who we see in the show.
This is something I only did after "Flutter Brutter" aired and after I have seen the moment with her aunt in this episode. After immediately knowing that I needed to write a fic for this moment, I really analyzed Dinky's personality for the first time ever, to write her really accurate in the fic.
Since I did not do this yet in November 2015, making both fics canon to each other would basically mean to retroactively apply "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" to "Aunt Millie", even though the latter was started more than half a year later than the former, and this just doesn't feel right.

So, TL;DR, "Aunt Millie" and "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" are not canon to each other anymore now, because Dinky's personality and life in these two different fics clash with each other, and so does a theory I have about Dinky clash with the idea I'm going with in the latter fic, and because "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" was started when I didn't even know yet that "Aunt Millie" would be a thing.
This means, everything you can read in "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity", while fitting to the show since it's based on "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", is NOT in any way canon to "Aunt Millie".

This goes, and goes ESPECIALLY, for the friendship between Dinky and Lily Longsocks, as well. I made them only friends in "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" too, because I like the idea of them being friends.
Dinky's mention that she became friends with Lily at the cute-ceanera of Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle in "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" is NOT referring to what I described about their first meeting in "Aunt Millie", these are two different events that happened in two different universes.
IF I ever delve more into the early, first days of friendship between Dinky and Lily, then it will be in a sidefic to "Aunt Millie", which will be properly marked as such then and said sidefic will NOT be canon to "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity", either, then and ONLY be canon to "Aunt Millie", the fic it will be based on, then.

"The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" is a self-contained universe and nothing in it is in ANY way connected to "Aunt Millie" or to any sidefics, sequels or prequels for "Aunt Millie" that I might write one day.
