"Aunt Millie"'s Spiritual Successor: Similarities and Differences

Update, July 8th, 2017: Forget what it says beyond about "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity" being canon to "Aunt Millie". This is not the case anymore. The reasons for this are detailed here.

Greetings, dear readers of "Aunt Millie". As promised in this blog entry, I want to give you all a few more infos about "The Strange Case of Dinky Hooves' Cutie Mark Curiosity", the spiritual successor of "Aunt Millie" until the sequel comes, and detail similarities and differences between it and "Aunt Millie".

As the title of the fic, in combination with the description and the cover, as well as some details in the first chapter, makes clear already, Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle get their first client after realizing their destiny as Equestria's first Cutie Mark Counselors and getting their cutie marks.
Dinky hasn't found her destiny so far, but she already has a cutie mark problem nonetheless. I can't go into detail here what it is exactly, aside from what the description says, but it is a severe problem that makes the very first mission of the Cutie Mark Crusaders to help a pony getting its cutie mark a gigantic challenge for them.
Dinky's personality in this fic will be the same that I described for her in "Aunt Millie", as I think this is the actual personality that Dinky has. However, there is a big problem Dinky faces currently, which is making her nervous, afraid and stressed. As a result, she will appear as rather sensitive and touchy in this fic, while dealing with the problem messes with her condition.
This is the reason why she comes across as pretty shy and unconfident in the first chapter and why she is very clumsy there, too, all things she usually wouldn't be, under normal circumstances.
Derpy will make an appearance in this fic too, the significance of her role and how many appearances she will have, is something I have yet to determine for this fic.
Millie, however, will most likely not be in it, even though this fic is set in the same universe as "Aunt Millie", the one we see in the show. That's simply because I didn't know yet that she's Dinky's aunt when I started writing this fic, months before Season 6 had even started. She does exist and is around in Ponyville, but will most likely simply not be mentioned in this fic.
I am going to have Lily in it as Dinky's friend, since, as I said, it's all in the same universe and because I explained in "Aunt Millie" how Dinky and Lily met each other and became friends at the cute-ceanera of Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
How big her role is, though, is something I need to think of first. Because I want to focus on Dinky and the help she is getting from the Cutie Mark Crusaders and not distract too much from that.
And I am tempted to have Noi in it as well, but this is not decided yet. She might not appear.

And that's all I can tell you so far. Everything beyond that would lead us into spoiler territory.
