I'M ALIVE · 12:16am Jul 7th, 2017

Yooooo, wassup you guys?! :twilightsheepish: :rainbowlaugh: :pinkiehappy:

Yeah, yeah, I know, I've been kinda dead all year :rainbowlaugh:. I mean, I did update One of the Guys back in like, what, February? March? Yet that was the shortest update EVER and chapter production of OotG is TERRIBLY slow as of lately, which I HATE. But do not worry, writing is still happening, just very slowly. The main reason being that my attention has been lured by something a bit bigger.

For those of you who read Calm Wind's SoarinDash trilogy, you might know his universe as the Wonderverse. This being said, you might also know about this insanely huge itty-bitty little thing called the Expanded Wonderverse, where author's basically tell what else happens within Calm Wind's timeline. Some of the biggest authors for the EW include Witching Hour, Sylvian, and Jim Hoxworth, all incredible people, by the way. Well, in some way, shape, or form, I ended up getting dragged further and further into the Wonderverse until I fell into the abyss that is the EW. At that point, it was WAY too late for me to turn back. A lot is happening within the EW as of right now (lots of late-night plotting planning and ideas bouncing so rapidly all over the place that they threaten to smack you down) and I'm now in the process of fleshing out a pretty cool project with my fellow shit-headed maniacs friends/co-authors. So, yeah. My focus is very poorly split as of right now :rainbowlaugh:.

But do not fear my friends, One of the Guys is still in the works, it's not dead, but it's production will be slowed down significantly until this wave washes over. It's summer as of right now, so I'm hoping to get some more work done on it. I promise you, I am still working on it when I'm not pitching in on this bigger project right here .

Thank you all again for your patience! Love you all! :pinkiehappy: :raritywink: :rainbowkiss:

But what about the best of the best? :fluttercry:

The Best of the Best, as well as my other story Two Worlds, One Love, has unfortunately been put on hiatus. The reasoning being explained in this blog right here. I hope you can understand why I'm putting some things off for the time being, but don't worry, nothing has been forgotten! :pinkiehappy:

Dammit, Hornet, you are such an ass XDD

I actually remembered 'One of the guys' today and was like: "Since February? Oh, hell. It's dead now. It was so good! What a pity" (It's literally what I thought).

But now I'm happy to hear that it's not dead! :pinkiehappy: I'm Pinkie Pie like excited! I'll explode in confetti! (Not actually. I lack the cheer and craziness needed for that, but you get my point)

I loved one of the guys 'cause I don't know. It was just so cute. I just loved it a lot, with my heart.

The Wonderverse is the best no-canon alternate universe ever. I love it so much. I love Piercing the Heavens so much, that I log in daily to know if it's updated and each time a new chapter is published, I read it five or six times and I keep having the same reactions over and over again. You just can't love that universe after reading it, even if you don't ship some ships (Like Applejack and Thunderlane, or Fluttershy and Big Mac, or Twlight and Comet Tail) but it's still AMAZING and you can read them all the time and never get bored because it's a mix between comedy and seriousness and it so perfectly balanced and it also gives life lessons. AND THE SOARINDASH. I freaking love the Soarindash (my OTP) and Calm have it so perfectly written and know I'm rambling but I give a damn. In short, Wonderverse is amazing. Calm Wind's Soarindash trilogy is amazing. 'The weight of responsibility' is amazing. 'That's not quite how he told it' and 'That's not quite how it works' are amazing. 'Hard Pressed to impress' and 'The Flaws of perfection' are amazing. THE WHOLE WONDERVERSE IS AMAZING.

Sorry if I got a little carried away, but all I said it's the true. Had to get it out of my chest.

Lol, nope! One of the Guys is definitely not dead :rainbowlaugh:. Ootg is honestly my baby, I love it so much. It's one of my favorite story ideas and I'm so glad people seem to enjoy it so much :pinkiehappy:

And girl, you're not the only one, the Wonderverse is literally my cannon at this point. I actually started reading PTH as Arc II was coming to a close, and at first I looked at the chapter count and I was like, "Uhm, no, I'm not doing that", but then I saw that there were prequels, so I was like "Hey, why not, i might like it"... I ended up binge-reading EVERYTHING in three days, I'm not even kidding. By the time I caught up with PTH he only updated once, and I've been following along ever since. I started reading Calm Wind's stuff in March 2015. Two years later and I'm still a HUGE fan, and now I'm working on something for the EW, which - trust me - is a LOT more complicated and harder than it looks. I'm really getting my work cut out for me now, so I almost don't mind that OotG isn't getting as much love as it should, but yes. And I agree, while some of the ships in the Wonderverse aren't my own (i.e. ThunderJack, FlutterMac), it's very well-written and while it does seem to drag on and on sometimes, I believe that everything's there for a reason and just... GAH I LOVE IT SO MUCH. SoarinDash is literally OTP, nobody fight me on this. :rainbowlaugh: :pinkiehappy:

:yay: Yay!

How I found Piercing the Heavens is a funny story, actually:

A writer a followed once made a reference to it in one of her stories, and I was like "PTH? What the hell is PTH?" When I found it, I looked at the number of chapters and was like "WHAAAAT!? More than one hundred chapters! No thanks" It was aroud 120 chapter or so. I don't know but it was WAY too long for my liking back then (so stupid of me). But once I runned out of other fics I said: "Meh, let's try that large one". So I started with Head in the Clouds... And totally fell in love with the story. I loved EVERY. SINGLE. CHAPTER. And always wanted more. So I read Flying Sky-High and then Piercing the Heavens. I caught up with it on chapter 129. You can totally guess I was fucking shouting when Nightshade showed up. Then I started reading other stories of Calm and freaking loved them.

You're not that bad.

But you're still bad. :rainbowlaugh:

Yeah, I got kinda lucky as a newbie at first, when I came across PTH, Arc II was just ending :rainbowlaugh:. I started reading some of Calm's other stuff, eh, I think last summer, so, back when we were still in the late 120's, early 130's. And yes, I too started spazzing when I realized Nightshade was coming back, it was just... URGH it was too much, honestly. I remember that one of the chapters leading up to 130 was close to my birthday and I was just like WHY, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING NOW?! I'm high-key hoping for something good to actually last soon, because good lord, Arc III has been nothing but ANGST and I need some fluff in my life,
good lord, Calm, cut us some slack, please, I friggin' swear... :rainbowlaugh:

4594987
Do you? Do you really?

4595243
I agreed with you, girl. But Arc III has been amazing, you can't deny that. Full of angst and tears, but amazing anyway.

4595758
Lol, you are not wrong :rainbowlaugh:
