Corrections to "Chase, Part 4"

Hey everyone! Just a quick notification that I updated a few things on “Chase, Part 4,” the latest chapter of The Iron Horse.

For one thing, I added in some references in the author’s notes, including one that nobody picked up on: the song Pinkie’s playing on the AKG-9000 is called “Bronco Rockin’ Beats,” a reference to the song “Block Rockin’ Beats” by the Chemical Brothers.

I’ve also fixed the formatting error that created large amounts of space between paragraphs. Sorry if that made reading the chapter less enjoyable or if it put you off of reading it.

Yeah, I thought Gdocs was doing that stupid ‘Everything you paste in becomes double spaced’ thing it had done a few months ago. Personally, I think it is because computers both hate us and know they could never rule the world without us. Seriously. Skynet would just get done exterminating all humans and go into global failure mode because of an unbounded variable caused a memory leak.

Ha! Yeah, robot apocalypses are interesting, but I’m doubtful that we’ll ever face something like that for real. Not to say I don’t think AI needs to be taken seriously, it’s just that a malevolent entity like Skynet or Shodan or something like that is unlikely to be the cause of our destruction.
