"Random" · 4:42am May 28th, 2017
I have just completed my Iron Author story entry here at AnthrOhio 2017. I'll get to see how it does in the judging/reading tomorrow morning.
This story is probably the only thing I will ever write that easily qualifies for the Random tag, which I have never used on Fimfiction because I am allergic to it and will break out in hives and die. Even so, I'm tempted to post the story on Fimfiction, but it only contains an oblique pony reference at the very end of the story: a brief mention of "little ponies", with a furry complaining that ponies are for girls so they refuse to acknowledge them despite how awesome everypony knows they are. So I don't think it qualifies as a story I can put here.
Note: it really, truly peeves me that everypony says random when what they actually mean is arbitrary. A random story sounds exactly like static, and it looks like what you see when you accidentally try to open a huge png file in a text editor and scroll down a page.
Fine I'm a dork shut up.
Readers, I mustache you a question...
So I have two options, as I see it...
1) Try to post the story here. No, wait, I'm pretty sure I can't do that this is not an option.
2) Post the story in the comments instead. This is good if you think I shouldn't be wasting my time with stupid crap when I still need to update Twilight's Secret Journal oh sweet Luna it's going to be five months soon without a single update what is wrong with my stupid typefingers.
3) Don't post the story in comments. Instead, make a similar random story that actually involves ponies, and publish it! But just the one, for fuck's sake. Don't ever do this again. Seriously.
4) No. Just. No. Burn the story with fire. It is an intentionally awful story with some bizarre story requirements, and I should never write for this tag again.
Call now! Operators are standing by.
I don't know if it's obvious I've been writing a random story for the past several hours.
Either option #3 or make a blog post for the story... but still option #3.
Well you could. It still counts as a try, even if you lack the requisites needed.

I vote blueberry.
Probably 3, or 2.
Personally, I think you might benefit the most from option 3, as you're likely to get the most feedback from it.
If you like, you could probably post the original story in an author blog or something for those who would be up for reading it, and seeing how it relates to the pony version you write.
3, or 2 but probably as a separate post, or maybe 4.
Wait, that probably doesn't help, does it?
Post the story on some other random fanfic site and link to it
I'd say either a blog or link to a gdoc. I imagine it would be too long for a comment? And yeah they won't let you submit it regular.
