Rainbow Dash and Applejack does not work. They're both too stubborn. Those brief moments where they both align will be momentous, but most of the time they'd get into arguments and neither would back down.

Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy does not work. Sure they might like a quiet night in once in awhile, but Fluttershy would want that every night but Dash would want to actually DO stuff, like go out for a night on the town. Rainbow Dash would quickly get bored but would refuse to leave Fluttershy. :(

That's why Twidash is the best ship.
