Piano Drake · 5:29am Apr 9th, 2017
It's nine o'clock on a Satuday
The regular crowd tunes in
There's an old mare sitting next to me
Droning on about all of her kin.
She says, "Son, can ya play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's happy and sweet, and I knew it complete
When I had a less wrinkly nose."
Sing us a song, you're the piano drake
Sing us a song today
Well, we're all in the mood for a catchy tune
And you've got us feeling okay.
Now Pinks at the bar is a friend of mine
She gets me my treats for free
And she's quick with a joke or to blow colored smoke
And there's noplace that she'd rather be.
She says "Spike, I know this delights me,"
As the smile runs away with her face
"And I'm sure that I couldn't do any more
In any new possible place"
Now Mac is a polymath farmer
Who comes in each night with his wife
And he's talking with Rainbow, who's still doing 'Bolt shows
And probably will be for life.
And the Princess is practicing politics
As the townsponies toast to their own
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call friendship
And it's better than drinking alone.
It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the producer gives me a smile
Cause they know that it's me they've come in to see
To celebrate life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like jade schmear
And they sit at the bar and put gems in my jar
And say, "Man, I'm sure glad you're here."
This is all Cynewulf's fault for inciting me on IRC.
I want to be able to add blogs to my favorites.
He should incite you more.
You were doing God's work, Cyne.
Delightful. Thank you for it.
Top tier.
