Who am I? Does it really matter? Probably not. Just sit back and enjoy stories drawn from the eldritch depths of a disturbed mind with a love for pastel colored ponies.

I'm strongly tempted to write a MLP/Dwarf Fortress crossover + General Announcement · 4:20am Mar 31st, 2017

Recently broke the initial learning curve for that game, and I freaking love DF now. It's to the point I'm wanting to do a crossover, and I think it could be rather fun.

Here's some spoilerish stuff:

"I don't understand, Princess. What's wrong with the dwarves?" Twilight asked, confused.

They were certainly an...odd bunch given to mroe drinking than she'd seen in any species ever, but from their trading expeditions and pictures they'd drawn of their fortress in teh badlands they seemed rather nice. Communications was still somewhat difficult and only Pinkie Pie had really learned their full language, although Twilight was close behind her in mastering it (to her annoyance, translation spells were useless on dwarves as they had no common root).

"You have?" Twilight asked with surprise. She'd never even heard of dwarves before they rolled into Ponyville pulled by non sentient camels of all things, so why hadn't she read about them.

Celestia nodded. "Many times, in fact. Usually they establish a fortress-don't worry too much that's hat they call all their colonies-in an inhospitable or otherwise undesirable location, and make a life for themselves. No, Twilight, I do not know their ultimate source, and I have yet to get a confirmation on their own origins. Luna suspects they are earth spirits manifested at times, and while I can't deny that exactly, I personally think a powerful entity on Discord's level drops them in Equestria from time to time for his own amusement."

"Then, what's wrong with them?" Twilight asked, uncertainly. She thought she was making friends with some of them.

"Hmm...did you know that it's impossible to dig into Tartarus?" Celestia asked, suddenly.
"For most beings, that is. You generally need special portals of some sort or another to enter the subterranian realm, but dwarves...don't. They've told me they have no magic, but I find that unlikely because they alone can and regularly do penetrate that layer of metal protecting the world from the horrors Tartarus hold."

Twilight could only stare, wide eyed, as Celestia continued.

"Every single fortress that has come to Equestria, despite warnings, eventually pierces Tartarus, and unleashes its hordes upon the world. Dwarves are magnificent trading partners, Twilight, and can turn even barren wastelands into productive bastions of civilization. However, their greed destroys them, inevitably.

Celestia laughed, and Twilight stepped back in some alarm at the strange...offness, that came with the laugh. "Did you know I was legitimately afraid the elements of Harmony would explode seven hundred years ago?" Celestia asked, suddenly.

"What? How would that even be possible?"

"I had to use the seventeen times in the span of two days to seal unkillable threats a dwarven fortress unleashed. For a decade afterward, the elements emitted a tortured hum, and had glowing cracks down the center."

Right now I'm primarily brainstorming ideas for the plot of such a crossover, how to integrate the worlds, and more. This is some stuff that just came to me.

As a side note, some might have noticed my general lack of activity as of late. That's due to three things.

One, I'm struggling with a cloppish story involving PInkie Pie and the Dazzlings. Considering I've never written romance or clop before, it's more or less one rocky start after another.

Two, I did have about five thousand worlds of a chapter of Fall of Equestria: Year of Misery and Hope. It would have involved Dainn and fate of the sun and moon with Celestia and Luna dehorned. I've discarded most of it on account that I feel it was getting too hopeless and veering into something cannon might like, plus I just couldn't make the idea work very well.

Three, a mountain of university work. This last one has been particularly devastating to my spare time, and often it's all I can do just to keep up, nevertheless write fanfiction (no matter how much I actually want to).

Well, that's about all. Figured I'd post a blog for those interested, and to get some thoughts out of my head.

Sound's interesting cross-over indeed.
Well, good luck with your university stuff. Let's hope it will be over soon.

4480628 Everything's already been done before. I did read that story, and found it quite enjoyable, although the DF crossover didn't involve the dwarves so much as it just relied heavily on them as a joke; dwarves make no actual appearance in the story.
