See how ominous and threatening Sin sounds if you just replace every mention of its name with "Giant Space Whale."
Wakka: The Giant Space Whale came, and destroyed the machina cities. And Zanarkand along with ’em. Yeah, that was about a thousand years ago, just like you said. If you ask me, the Giant Space Whale's our punishment for letting things get out of hand.
Yuna: Lady Yunalesca!
Seymour: She was the first person to defeat the Giant Space Whale and save the world from its ravages. And you have inherited her name.
Yuna: It was my father who named me.
Seymour: Lord Braska was entrusting you with a great task. He wanted you to face the Giant Space Whale, as Lady Yunalesca did.
Yunalesca: Have you chosen the one to become your fayth? Who will it be?
Yuna: Might I ask something first? Will the Giant Space Whale come back even should I use the Final Summoning to defeat it?
Yunalesca: The Giant Space Whale is eternal. Every aeon that defeats it becomes a Giant Space Whale in its place… And thus is the Giant Space Whale reborn.
Tidus: So that’s why Jecht became a Giant Space Whale.
Yunalesca: The Giant Space Whale is an inevitable part of Spira’s destiny. It is neverending.
Giant Space ANYTHING is terrifying if it's destroying your world. Look at Lavos (giant space hedgehog). Hell, look at the Probe from Star Trek IV, it was basically a Giant Space Dildo!
4470919 True, but to me at least, "Giant Space Whale" is just an inherently silly and funny thing to say. Like, FF6 would be a lot sillier to play if you replaced the word "Magitek" with "Gummy Bear."
For extra hilarity, call it the Evil Giant Space Whale. And that includes the italics. And make sure all the voice actors do their best Mermaidman impression.
