Went ice skating with the hubby, his second time i've been skating since I was 3. I saw him struggling so I tried to slowly pull him across the ice. He gathered far to much momentum and knocked me to the ice. I landed on the ice hard.

See, no, when skating the proper method of "assisting other skater" is full-speed collision. That always worked for me when I used to skate. It also works really well for "I need to stop" and "I need to change direction"!
