It's been a long December and there's reason to believe...

Maybe this year will be better than the last.

I'd say more, but let's not tempt fate, she seems to be having a rough year too.

    Have you voted yet?

This isn't an endorsement, I have no facts and figures to offer you, no scandals to mention. I'll just say that this election may well be the most noteworthy in quite some time for the turnout, and early voting is still happening tomorrow. If you mailed yours in, check to make sure it was received. If it wasn't, there is still time to vote in person and cancel the mail in. No matter how you do

A question to my readers of Green... Is my chapter numbering getting a little silly?

I've been asking myself that as I look at the chapter that will become Interlude 17 and I wonder if maybe I made a mistake separating those from the conventional chapter numbering.

Between the interludes, the one intermission chapter for Spike, the prelude, and the half chapter I did because of reasons... I am actually working on chapter 71 now but in the story we're going to be uploading chapter 51 (which, btw, will be uploaded on the 31st, not April 1st. I don't want real chapters confused with pranks). One of my prereaders jokingly asked if I was actually 20 chapters ahead in my queue to be uploaded. I could only wish. I stay a month ahead so editing can happen, that's about it

Some of you commented on how the title of this latest chapter and the content therein made it seem like I was ending the story. While I am not yet, Green is drawing to it's inevitable end. While the minutiae of my couples lives have proven to be wonderfully fun to write (and, I assume, read, as you have followed along) I will have to do a time skip at some point, though I am not entirely sure when. I will say I will try to provide a good ending, and it will be delivered when I feel all the threads have a nice send off.

In other news, I am finally past the holidays, and the subsequent two months of recovering from said holidays. That means I finally feel up to more than just doing a chapter of Green a month. The first story to benefit from my restored energy will be that mature story I can't link for you about the French pony and her fascination with her little princess. I miss being in Fleur's head. She's so much fun.

After that, I plan to start working on that final story in the mature series about Fashion ponies, shy ponies, and party ponies. This last one will be about none of those three, just in the same universe, and will involve newly crowned princesses and awkwardness.

Lastly, I haven't mentioned this in forever, but I do have that Patreon link up there (knowing people are expecting things out of me gives me motivation on days I feel kinda blah) I do not expect to ever make a living from writing and no one should use that with the intent of supporting me (what money I get tends to help, money is always useful but I still need to work, and I would feel weird trying to make my hobby into my job) but if you feel like tossing a couple bucks at me to spur me on, it exists. I also give people who contribute access to the Green chapter being preread for next month, as well as access to chapters of other stories I write as they are finished. If you are that kind of superfan, and have extra money you won't miss, knock yourself out.

Thank you all for following along.

I hate to say it but I'm glad that the fic is ending soon. With how each plot point drags on like a cheap drama, and the constant switching back and fro between points of view has made it a bit of a drag to keep reading it.

I look forward to more for your Fleur story though.

4449339 Glad you enjoyed it enough to keep reading regardless.

Unfortunately any time you write an expansive universe you risk that someone will grow weary of all the elements you introduce and maybe not even like some of the events. The show itself has that same problem.

And while I am not ending it simply to end it, I can understand your desire to know how it all ends rather than give up after following for as long as you have.

I've been asking myself that as I look at the chapter that will become Interlude 17 and I wonder if maybe I made a mistake separating those from the conventional chapter numbering.

Yes, they've definitely become silly. It'd be one thing if the side stories had remained side stories, but by the point I'd stopped reading the rest of the Mane 6 became major protagonists in their own right. They might still be 'separate,' but they've been given their own level of prominence that I think elevates them to something a bit more than mere 'interludes.'

4449362 Well, the original intent was to give glimpses into the other couple's lives, but the story has had many twists and turns with couples becoming entangled in each other's stories. Like most things in Green, elements have outgrown themselves... and I begin to wonder if I am holding to a system that no longer serves any purpose.

I like it, it's a fun story. However expanding story line can be a issue. Many here, including myself have used an "Arc" system. Where you have "Arc 1" the main story then "Arc 2" a side line then back to main with "Arc 3" and so on.

I don't think so, and honestly, I'm sad that it'll be ending soon. But I realize all good things must end, and I haven't heard anything that says we won't see more from this universe later down the road. Keep up the good work.

4449389 I should clarify. Soon is relative. It's when I feel like the ending will come naturally.

4449403 Understood. But I still stand by what I said.

4449388 I do use arcs... sort of. Green is written in three chapter arcs, and the interludes were supposed to be a little mental break between. But then the side characters became much more prominent.

I personally don't have an issue with chapter numbering, although I think that the TwiPieLestia (somehow that sounds dirty) thing went from being actual interlude chapters, to being its own entire subplot. It's distincttly separate from AppleDash-bit which we see so rarely and feels like an interlude.

4449717 Yeah, Applejack and Rainbow have fewer problems to address. They are remarkably unfucked up.
