I had a dream about Fimfiction... · 1:52am Feb 27th, 2017
...a few days ago.
(This isn't even the first time. But all my prior dreams were not terribly interesting.)
I dreamed that Knighty added a new genre tag. Just one.
The tag was "Xeno", for xenofiction (warning: TV Tropes link). That is, the genre that's about examinining fundamentally unhuman viewpoints and societies. You know, the writing approach that's exactly the opposite of ColdInGardez's motto "Stories about ponies are stories about people." That neglected niche of our fandom was somehow, in dream-Knighty's mind, important enough to get its own tag.
But that wasn't the weirdest part. The weirdest part was that the tag was misspelled Xenú.
Yes, in my dream it was supposed to be an abbreviation for "xenofiction", but it somehow turned out as the alien dictator from Scientology's origin story, but with an unnecessary accent as well.
Sometimes I worry over what my dreams imply about me.

I can actually name each of the religions those figures hail from. Heck, I've even incorporated a couple of those religions in an Interfaith Smoothie in a fic I wrote.
Except Bono, who I suspect is a musician.
I, too, have dreamed about fimfiction, but nothing quite so out-there as adding a new genre tag. (Though I am somewhat fond of xenofiction.) Mostly, I just dream that I'm reading a particularly good fic, but I can't recall anything about the fic when I awaken.
I want more xenofiction.
I know ive read it. Its been awhile though.
The first thing that comes to mind is Celest-A.I. from the "Friendship is Optimal" setting.
The most I got is dreaming of an update that isn't.

Xenofiction sounds neat. I don't believe I've read any, but the idea especially for a society like Equestria sounds fascinating.
