Still Pressing Forward... · 3:00pm Feb 17th, 2017
Man, February hasn't been much slower than January. Thankfully I was able to kick that nasty cold by the time my birthday rolled around last month on the 25th. Not that I really felt much like celebrating. But anyway on with the blog. ^^ Well, February hasn't been too relaxing to start. But I am finally back working on my stories again. More on that in a little bit.
The beginning of the month saw me working my first ever required period at my new job. Not bad, forced overtime that you get a 30 day notice of and get to pick what day you work it. Very flexible. And on the week I worked it, I still had two days off. Of course after working 5 ten hour days, I was beat. And then there was some concern regarding my mother. And after having just lost my father, only a little over a month ago, when she had to go to the hospital for a stress test and was more than a little nervous about it. Despite having just come off my long week, I was more than happy to go with her. Besides, I doubt I would have slept very well anyway. And while I'm not much of a coffee drinker, I did knock back two cups that morning, but it takes a good deal of milk, creamer and sugar to make regular black coffee taste good. lol We're still waiting for the results of the test, but I'm glad I made the effort and tagged along, it did wonders for my mom's moral. Hopefully things will be all right.
And we are no longer in limbo. All the post funeral paper work and life insurance stuff is done. But given the air in the house now, and some decisions mom and I agreed on. We've decided we want to move. For now, we're going to be cleaning up and packing. Then we're going to move in with my best friend for a year or two, while we plan where we want to move to. My friend isn't sure if he wants to stay where he is either and has the space for us to crash with him in the meantime and since he and I have been friends for nearly 23 years, it will give us a chance to spend more time together. Seeing as my current job and last job haven't afforded us nearly enough time to hang out the past six years. And if things go well, the three of us may look for a place. Who knows. The future can be a fickle thing.
As for the writing front. I've started working on Twilight's story again. I'm not tired of Cherish Heart's story by any means, but I felt more than a little disheartened when I saw the last comment on "For Whom She Sparkles". I can't believe how long it's been since I last gave Twilight's story an update. And while I'm still enjoying Cherish Heart (Button's Mom), a friend at work suggested I take a little breather from that story, mainly because since November I have been (as he colorfully put it) up that story's butt (I toned it down a little). And that comment, along with the fact that I've always been a big fan of Twilight and she helped remind me of that recently. Actually, my one Twilight plushie was really worried about me when I got sick last month. She kept me company while I slept and was there to constantly check on me when I work up. So that helped get my feels for Twilight going again. And I have to say, after working on chapter 5 again. I can't believe I was considering axing my work on 2nd person stories. I still enjoy it and understand why I have a flare for it. I posted an update to my what's new section on my user page. So even with the move in the works, I'm still going to keep prodding forward with my writing, ^^
Well, this is already past the point of tl; dr, so Im going to stop it here. I should really get to bed anyway. It was a tiring night at work. My left knee is killing me. lol Oh and Twilight is giving me that look...see?
