Chapter 11 of Homelands is done.
Edit: Edit: It will be going up on fimfiction a week from now, but if you don't want to wait, you should know that individuals who pledge as little as one dollar a month to support the author might be able to read it sooner. Just a heads up. If you don't want to, that's fine. It'll be freely accessible next week for everybody though.

While we cannot enforce such a thing if you do not directly involve fimfiction in the process, here's something directly from the rules:
Ergo, this blog is in violation of that rule. You may advertise your patreon on the site, but in this instance, you are in violation of the rules we have laid out in regards to Patreon. Do not involve fimfiction in advertising.

We cannot intercede if you're sharing content outside of fimfiction, i.e. GDocs, but stating it here and saying 'hey, for money you can get this early access' is what's the issue here. Need to avoid that, people will read such things on your patreon page if they feel a desire to visit it.

I'm not releasing it exclusively on patreon, and any readers there will be readers here too, so I'm not stealing traffic. They're perfectly free to wait a week if they want to read it here, but they don't have to. So I still don't understand the problem, especially since it's supposed to be a blog. I thought that I could talk about what I wanted on a blog. My apologies if I was mistaken about that.

While I, personally, would love nothing more than to see all references to Patreon or other such sites banned, here's how it works.
You are currently allowed to post that you have a Patreon. You can link to it. You can spam it as much as you like. That's fine.
You cannot, however, come onto fimfiction and say 'Hey, for X dollars, you get early access, so go take a look at my Patreon.' That is the issue. These are fanfiction works. While it hasn't been an issue yet, the fact is that making money off of fanfiction content is generally considered a legal (and financial) hazard for anyone playing party to its facilitation. If a company decides one day that all such things are a breach of their copyright (since you are making money off of their licensed content) and brings legal action against all making money off of said content looking for damages/reparation, that's the issue. So, ergo, no allowing you to advertise what you are giving your Patreons on fimfiction, ever. If you share chapters via gdocs with them, fine, that's your prerogative to do. But, fimfiction is not to be involved beyond a link to Patreon, end of story.
Really can't make this any clearer than that, though. This is why we have it in our rules.
