    I'm (still) not quite dead...

I'm sorry, I am so very sorry for the lack of updates on, well, anything. A few of you have probably noticed that I've still been putting in the occasional appearance or comment, but as for chapter updates...yeah I've barely written anything for months for various reasons - work sucks, arranging a couple vacations, a falling out in my D&D group of 14 years, and just a sort of malaise that

    When you're writing a chapter...

And listening to music to keep yourself in the mood, and then you hear a song that has you suddenly realize that you've been writing the entire chapter wrong and should have instead been basing it around the song - not necessarily using the song directly (especially since that would be against site rules concerning wholesale copying of lyrics), but certainly drawing on it for inspiration.

The Good News and the Bad News

The good news is that I got a root canal on Monday. No more pain in teeth. Yay!

The bad news is that I was 3/4ths of the way through the next chapter of Midnight Castle (~5000 words) and realized that I was writing it totally wrong. I need to go back to practically the start and change up a lot, though I'm salvaging lines and paragraphs wherever I can.

Things I Hate, pt. XI · 5:46pm Feb 7th, 2017

Food poisoning. From a hotdog, of course. At least it's a classic.

I spent all Sunday night throwing up every two hours, like clockwork. Since then I've had a single slice of pizza on Sunday, most of a sausage-and-egg sandwich on Monday, some toast, and this morning, a corn muffin that I could barely finish. I'm in this weird state where I'm both starving and don't want to eat anything ever again. Also I spent all of Sunday dehydrated to Hell and back; I drank an entire carton of apple juice, most of two Gatorade bottles, and a lot of water.

Never gonna have a hotdog from work ever again.

Worst part is that on Saturday I actually started getting some writing done again, but since my terrible, terrible Sunday night, I really haven't been in the mood for anything.

If that hotdog was from your workplace, you need to tell your coworkers to improve the hygiene there. There could also be worse digestive illnesses if one is not careful.

Take care and take rehydration salts regularly to replace lost salts from dehydration (though sports drinks like Gatorade works well too) and start eating light food such as crackers, lemon and rice. Just try and avoid dairy products and heavier meal. A visit to your doctor and your nearest pharmacist might also help.

Sounds like you had your very own Super Bowl in your bathroom.

That really sucks. Hope you feel better soon.

I am so sorry to read this. I legit hope you get better. *Hugs*

I feel sorry for you, I hope you feel a lot better soon.

...Where do you work? I want to know because I want to avoid hotdogs from that place at all cost. :twilightoops:

Glad to hear you're recovering. Food poisoning sucks. Just keep yourself hydrated and ease yourself back into eating.

Ugh! Food Poisoning is awful!
