Realized I'm behind on my blogposts · 2:24am Dec 2nd, 2016
So, I've been sitting on the TLS sequel for literally 6 months now. Why, you may ask? It's simple, dear, dear readers (all 3 of you).
Verisimilitude.
Now, I'm no big-time fancy college boy—in fact, I almost used 'collage' instead of 'college' here due to how close they are as a word—but Verisimilitude is an important reason why there's been a delay.
"Merc. Come on now," I hear you say. "What does that word have to do with anything? You're pretty garbage at stories, why have you been so reluctant at showcasing it, since it's just Rarijack masturbatory aid?"
Well, yes, guilty as charged I guess. But the reason I'm bringing Verisimilitude up is because there's nothing worse than a bad sequel. Verisimilitude helps prevent that. Plus it's fun to say. It's the writer's version of salsa. Eat your hear out, Seinfeld.
For the few that don't know what that word means, I'll give you the abridged: the suspension of disbelief, the thought that something could be real within a story. Basically, realistic worlds, settings, devices, and character interactions. All of these help with the verisimilitude of a story in any media, and that suspension of disbelief, the willingness of immersion, that's how you get invested into a story, and how you are able to conjure genuine emotion out of a reader.
So I've been working, having prereaders look over the story to make sure that character interactions play out extremely well. as it's integral to the plot that I keep them in-character, as otherwise I'm going to fall into a trap a lot of other fics have fallen into on the site. So bear with me just a bit longer, and we'll get it posted, I promise.
You should have that shit out by Christmas. Or I'll write a letter to fucking santa, and he'll break into your house and post that shit for you.
(Take your time though, man. It'll be worth it.)
Make it 20℅ danker
Hey Merc, glad you're still part of this place and you still have a penchant for quality.
As long as we're here... any updates on Heistverse?
Verisimilitude is a good word.
I had to shelve my recent attempt at original fiction around the time I reached chapter 3 because I realized too much of the core premise lacked verisimilitude. Back to the drawing bored I guess. Oh well, more time to write about human-horse lesbians.

Hopefully I'll get the first chapter put out in a week, if I get the go-ahead.

I'll turn my memes into dreams.

Well, we've been having some conflicting scheduling issues. I hope we can get those resolved soon enough, but I'd hate to say a concrete timeframe.

Don't feel too bad, original fiction is pretty hard to do most times, especially if it's a complex premise.
