Dramatic Reading of "An Annual Occurrence" · 11:50pm Oct 31st, 2016
Some users may remember a story I did some years ago. "An Annual Occurrence" was a very light piece, as well as the only time I've ever really written a "holiday-themed" story.
Well, DT the Lost Water Spirit just did a dramatic reading of it. Find it over here.
I think they did a fine job. Their diction is clear, and they read the story at a smooth pace. My one criticism would be that their delivery is too uniform. Aside from some of the dialogue, the story is read very professionally. Whether this beige delivery is an intentional stylistic choice that makes the story funnier via contrast, or a missed opportunity to embellish the narrative, I suppose is a matter of taste.
Either way, the reading is worth a listen: it clocks in just under seven-and-a-half minutes.
Whether you've read the story or not, I hope you have a great Nightmare Night Halloween Discount Candy Day, the greatest of holidays.
