REALLY IMPORTANT UPDATE: The future of my stories. · 3:41am Sep 12th, 2016
Due to recent intelligence from credible sources, I have decided that I will need to revise a few things in my little EG universe. I will no longer be planning any TwiPie anythings from here on out.
But why???
Because Hasbro. That's why.
Legends of Everfree will have a very significant impact on the future of my work...and I'm beginning to fear that everything I've done so far will be for naught if canon changes courses on me...
Even though I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DO THIS...I'm going to revise the later part of the last chapter of Never Drift Away, probably to just remove and/or replace the TwiPie scene with something else. Sunset related maybe? Yeah, maybe.
The times have changed on me...on all of us in this fandom...and nothing we do is truly sacred. The best we can accomplish is attempting to create beauty with very regulated materials that do not really belong to us.

I've been very frustrated with season six's lack of captivating stories and the future of EG....

You could just slap an AU tag on the stories, and do as you please.

I agree that season 6 has been disappointing, but I'm fine with "the future of EG". I suspect you mean a certain Timber Spruce guy and the implications of his involvement? I somehow don't expect him to last past the fourth movie, and besides that, I don't think you should concern yourself too much with following canon shippery and whatnot 100%. I think so, at least. They never would've supported any fan ships anyway, though of course it's a bit sad to see them directly contradicted (I msyelf like a SciTwi X Sunset story now and again). But I'm sure you can either find an easy way to handwave any canon imposition (and do not hurry until we've seen the film, who knows what will happen), or not even bother yourself. Pony ships have survived stuff like Rarity's numerous crushes on male characters or the little Twilight moments with both Flashes.
But...but...I wanna read a good EG Twipie story!
Don't let silly things like "Canon" get in the way of a good story. A good chunk of the stories on this site wouldn't exist otherwise.
Alternate Universe tag is probably the way to go.

Please please please continue your story with Twipie. They are my favorite ship and you do a grear job writing a cute ship story
I vote for the AU tag and writing your own stories method. I may not know much about the upcoming canon EG stuff, but it seems incredibly silly and lame to change your universe you've been building based on that. I love all the little hints at TwiPie you've been building up, and I'd love to see it through. I guess I just think you should keep writing your universe as you want it, don't feel like you have to change it based on what canon says. I'M BAD AT WORDS SORRY BUT I HOPE MY POINT GETS ACROSS
I've been hoping for your Twipie for a looooong while now, please don't change your mind!
Honestly, I don't think the light romance in the EG movies should be taken seriously. In the movies Twilight seems to have a crush on Flash, but it hasn't stopped me and numerous others to ship her with Sunset. Even if Sci Twi gets a sudden crush on some random unimportant guy in the next movie, doesn't mean we can't ship her with Pinkie. We need to keep in mind that Twilight is the main character, and as such will always get a very safe vanilla treatment by Hasbro. That's just the way those kind of shows work. Little girls need to relate to her, and you apparently do that by having her crush on the cool guy.
And if canon really does bother you, just say it's AU and be done with it. EG is already an AU to begin with, doesn't bother me at all! :) Please don't change your plans or anything about your stories: they're great just the way they are!
One: They don't have EG as canon for the main show, why should you not take liberties with it?
Two: Meh! We are shipping ponies/"humans" that are not actually in a relationship. Anything we do will be made up at some point and proven wrong at a moment's notice.
Three: PLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEE?????? I really wanted to see that Twipie story with this setup!
Four: They go together so well though!
K, Even though I just finished reading rarijack, (like 2 minutes ago) and have not seen anything of the eg movies, (still on season two of the main show) I fully give you my support and will be happy with what ever you do in the future.
I honestly don't agree with you for multiple reasons. Season 6 has actually had a lot of interesting and captivating stories and I've enjoyed the majority of the season (ex: No Second Prances, Flutter Brutter, The Saddle Row Review, Hearth's Warming Tail, Stranger Than Fanfiction, The Times They Are A Changeling, The Fault In Our Cutie Marks, just to name some). The second half is definitely superior, but the first half had some great stuff too. I'm sure I'm speaking for other people too. And not to sound like an ass, but I don't really know why it matters anyway since most of your stories are EQG. Secondly, the new movie shouldn't have to limit what you do in your stories. If it goes against what's canon, who cares? It's your stories and you can do what you want. A lot of MLP stories do things that aren't canon. I really don't see the problem here. Just don't worry about it.
