The newest addition to the A Mother's Warmth series of Nyx fics that also includes Treasures and Trinkets, A Dreamless Night, originally called Dreamless Nights, is a fic, that as one might decipher from my comments, isn't my favorite.

The story wasn't really intended to exist, it was going to be something completely different when I wrote it, but because I didn't like the beginning, I scrapped it and used what I had written to start on A Dreamless Night. I'm not happy with it, my comments explain why that is. My mindset at the time of writing was in utter chaos because I wanted to do that other planned story but I couldn't think of a new beginning, and so I let myself write this one and it surprisingly hasn't backfired despite the pov change at the end that didn't work, but for me, who knew it was coming, the transition was perfect.
The story feels a lot closer to the Tears in the Snow canon or Nyx fics I write, that series deals with Nightmare Moon anxieties on Nyx's part. I don't really like A Dreamless Night a whole lot, I'm glad at least nine of you do, and I'm happy it's gotten on some peoples favorite lists (although I know some people didn't read it, usually the people who favorite multiple fics one after the other with no time spaced have never read it and are just faving it for the hell of it,) all in all I'm happy people enjoyed it, but I personally do not. My next fic will be related to Snowdrop.
