S6E17: "Dungeons and Discords" · 8:32pm Aug 27th, 2016
I'm sorely tempted to give this a five just for making Ogres and Oubliettes canon in the show, but I shall resist. Anyway: a fun, lightweight episode. It's another of those where I wonder just how Pony it is, and I also wonder whether it'll be one that has a great deal of replay value. Still, it's amusing while it lasts -- and, away from the main plot, has some pretty good Fluttershy in the opening scene. Not Nick Confalone's best episode, not even his best this season (that's "The Saddle Row Review", of course), but better than "No Second Prances". Feels like a highish three right now, so that's what it's getting. ★★★
You didn't like No Second Prances? :O
4177241 At the time, I liked it quite a bit and gave it four stars. I've cooled on it a bit since then, and it would now be a solid but unexceptional three. I still like it, but I don't love it. So yep, this beats it. Mind you, a friend who is a huge Twilight fan thinks "No Second Prances" is a huge disappointment, and ranks it dead last of the pre-hiatus S6 episodes. By comparison I'm a raving fanboy about it! :P
