    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Brotherly Bonding Time Scene Lyrical Form · 3:26am Aug 20th, 2016

In case you're wondering which scene, it's that certain one at the end of the Manehattan arc involving Cheese and the other guy messing with his mind. I based that scene on "Unleash the Magic" (best EQG song, IMO), and I had crafted the dialogue with that scene to try to match that song as well as I could should it be written in lyrics. It was an interesting exercise to say the least.

In case you're wondering, I'm bored as heck right now.

If you want to try to sing along, I managed to find a link to a completely instrumental version of the song someone made. Or, you could sing with this awesome orchestra version someone made. :pinkiehappy:

I apologize that you might have to force enunciation at a couple points--I couldn't come up with anything better. :twilightsheepish:

Now, onward to the lyrics!

(Cheese’s memories are out in the open, with only a single thread attaching all of them to his ears. Looking at the orbs in awe, Cheese can’t believe that they could be projected like that. However, he is very uncomfortable with Rooney getting sidetracked from his promise to return a lost memory to him, instead looking at the memories of Cheese's various childhood traumas.)

(Rooney gingerly touches an orb and gazes into it.)

[Rooney]

I see here that you’ve always been an outcast

The torment began when you first started school

When you met all those bullies, and your mother ignored your pleas

You soon realized that your entire world was cruel

(Green smoke bursts out from the memory orbs and surrounds him, masking the entire area. Shadows of his classmates appear.)

[Memory Projection of Classmates]

(Start chanting tauntingly)

(Cheese suddenly finds himself younger, and in his shock he finds his mother towering over him with a disappointed glare.)

[Memory Projection of Mozzarella]

Now, I’m sure your classmates will listen to reason (shadows of classmates shake their heads)

They won’t talk down to a colt so smart and strong (no-oh-oh-oh)

Defy their childish games, after all, I’ve made it plain

You make one mistake, then everything goes wrong!

[Memory Projection of Classmates]

(Classmates march toward Cheese, chanting and bearing malicious looks on their faces as he backs up in fear)

Hello there, Poofhead! Hey, what’s up, Four-Eyes?

Tell us why your flank’s still blank

(ha-ha, haha!)

You can’t talk, Squeaker? You’re getting meeker!

(ha ha ha!)

Is there a colt that’s more lame?

(As they chant once again, Cheese holds his face down. He looks up again to see his mother holding a couple pieces of paper)

[Memory Projection of Mozzarella]

I got your grades and Tomato’s

Oh, Cheese Sandwich, now I must know

(grabs Cheese’s ear) Why you’ve got such painful low scores on your test

(Cheese: ow, ow, ow, ow!)

While his grades are high again

I wish you could keep up with him

Because I expect better from my oldest

[Memory Projection of Classmates]

(they appear again, chanting that same chant, and they steal young Cheese’s glasses, and throw them around as he stumbles around trying to catch them with his poor sight)

I’ve got his glasses! I’ve got his glasses!

Look at that, he’s about to cry!

Oh, now you want them? (glasses are smashed) Oops, they’re broken!

(ha ha ha!)

Here’s a present, it’s called a black eye!

(They continue the chant as one of them punches Cheese in the face. Curling up in a ball as they laugh at him, he suddenly feels Rooney’s magic lift him up, which startles him.)

[Rooney]

What I’m suggesting’s very simple

For painful memories I have a cure

(Rooney ages Cheese back to adulthood and places a memory orb--collected foalhood traumas--in his hoof).

I can make you forget the things that you were forced to endure

(An entire carnival erupts all around them, with a variety of games, rides, food, and most importantly, ponies having fun. Cheese feels the joy all around him permeate his body, which pleases him greatly. Rooney gestures to the party around them.)

Because those foals and your wretched mother

Their treatment you did not deserve

I promise to set you free

And happiness I will ensure!

[Memory Projections of Various Parties]

Forget them, Cheesy! It’s really easy!

A party pony shouldn’t live with pain!

(Cheese's orb flashes and sends out a shockwave, which turns the carnival into a wreck. Pony patrons are sobbing, wounded, or dead, much to Cheese's dismay. All those living soon turn to glare at him.)

Or all this laughter turns to disaster (ah-ah-ah)

(Area gets covered in green smoke. The two ponies that Cheese loves the most appear right in front of him, glaring at him).

[Projections of Tomato and Pinkie Pie]

And the failure of your campaign!

(Cheese watches as every pony that he ever met steps out of the smoke one by one, glowering as they all start to chant)

[Projections of All Those Cheese Has Met]

Release the memories, and release the pain

Release the memories, and release the pain

[Cheese]

I have told Pinkie that I set my past free…

[Memory Projections]

Release the memories, and release the pain

Release the memories, and release the pain

[Cheese]

But all along I was lying, I see…

[Memory Projections]

Release the memories, and release the pain

Release the memories, and release the pain

[Cheese]

If they keep on haunting me, I might just lose it!

[Memory Projections]

Release the memories, and release the pain

Release the memories, and release the pain

[Cheese]

I just want these memories to leave me be…

(He releases the orb, letting it float to Rooney.)

[Memory Projections]

Release the memories, be free from them

(Cheese watches as Rooney takes hold of the memories of his childhood traumas. Cheese is sweating as he anticipates what’s to come.)

Release the memories, be free from them

[Rooney]

(A snap is heard as he plucks the memory from the threads attaching them to his ears. Cheese has a brief moment of staticy pain before he falls to the ground unconscious. With the freshly-harvested memories, Rooney disappears in a puff of smoke).

As soon as I saw that, I thought Zenyatta from Overwatch.
Nice lyrics though! They fit in nicely with the instrumental. You should see if you could find someone to cover this, i'd listen to it.
