Equestria Daily did one of their semi-regular "Blast from the Past" posts, and apparently my CYOA, The Purloined Pony, now qualifies as a "tale from long ago!" I'm absurdly pleased to have something I produced brought back into the spotlight, however briefly. And also, I'm slightly chagrined.
Why chagrined? Well, I wrote that story almost a year and a half ago. It's been about seven months since I've written anything worth mentioning, and almost a year since I last wrote something worth submitting to Equestria Daily. I appreciate the boundless optimism all dozen-plus of you, my heretofore unaddressed watchers, have shown by continuing to watch me despite the fact that I don't DO anything, but it's about time that changed.
Anyway, news: For the last month or so, I've been working when time allows on a new story. ATM, I'd estimate I'm about two-thirds done with the rough draft. I'm officially going to move it to the front of the "free time" burner, and try to finish preliminary writing within the next week or two. Hopefully, allowing time for editing and second-guessing, I'll have something to post here before October.
I mention this now on the theory that, having told people to expect something, I'll be more motivated to actually do some writing. I'm one of those people who needs a deadline, and... well, looks like I just gave myself one. Look for my as-yet-untitled story about changelings, styled after C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters, towards the end of the month.
