We've got some brand new videos and information on the newest installment in the Equestria Girls series. Surprisingly, it doesn't look all that bad to me. Check it all out after the break.
For some reason, the whole "give out the first fifteen minutes of the move" thing is still going, so here are the first five sneak peeks in order for your viewing pleasure.
These actually aren't terrible, and that's coming from me. It isn't so terribly Twilight focused that I got discouraged from watching them. Besides the awkward dialogue in the first clip, these didn't really give us anything too negative to make nasty assumptions about the quality. Looks like HumanTwi really is getting that love interest after all, though (thank god; now I get Sunset all to myself). Things seem to be on a decent start, so I can't really inject my recent habit of parade raining at the moment.
In even better news, the writers for Legend of Everfree have been confirmed as well:
These two have worked on some quality episodes, including the only Spike episode I've ever liked, so if anything, we can expect something better than The Friendship Games. All in all, things are definitely looking up since the last update and I'm actually getting kind of excited for the movie now. But we really can't know for sure until it actually comes out. When it does, I'm sure you'll hear all about it right here, folks.
So what do you guys think about it? Are the teasers promising, or should we expect another fiasco?
I think Spruce is going to turn out to be a bad guy. His very active flirting with Sci-Twi coupled with his pointless hostility toward Bulkie are suspicious. The romantic tirangle may be an attempt to demonstrate that Flash is a good guy through comparison.
Having said that, I hope they don't forget that Sci-Twi and Princess Twilight are two different individuals. If they make Flash forget this, they're implying he's pretty damn superficial. They don't act that alike -- in fact they probably do so less than any of the characters (though of course this may be because we've seen them both in the same environments).
I'm withholding my judgement until I see the full movie, but the change of writers is definitely encouraging. I was at first rather worried that SciTwi was going to usurp the main character spot from Sunny, but if you of all people don't think the Twi focus is at dangerous levels thus far, then I'll continue to be cautiously optimistic. FG may have lost a lot of trust, but I'm always willing to see if they can approach RR again.
I can't help but roll my eyes at the idea of Timber Spruce being SciTwi's love interest. Maybe I'm crazy, but I kinda felt like one of the more important lessons from ol' Flash Sentry was that you shouldn't have a new character debut as a love interest to an already established character (not counting parody romances like Trenderhoof). 'Course, there's still every chance that it could be a fake out. We'll just have to see.
im having dangerous feling that sci twi is gona become (hmmm how do i put this) main in eq main 7 and steal a spot from sunny from theas shorts.there is only 1 twi in both universes we can handel.also iv noticed they are touching the aftermath of what is happening to sci twi why they never did that with sunny.still im gona hold my judgement till i watch the mouvie cause you cant judge the book by its cover eaven tho we got few pages from it
I'm not going to get my hopes up by any means. It looks decent, yes, but these are only the first minutes of a nearly hour-and-a-half long movie, and a lot can go wrong in that timespan. I'll withhold my full judgment until I actually see it, though.

Ugh, looks way too Twilight-centric. Twilight gets the romance arc again, Twilight's magic activates first, we see a metric ton of Twilight in the show, needs more Sunset-focus.
Another EQG movie? Well, I guess it should be expected of Hasbro to not give up on such a lucrative brand. Bit disappointed in the way they're headed though, kinda hoped the 2nd one would be the last one.
