As of me typing this, 705 is how many times The Bird... or the Cage? has been viewed. Now, granted, I am sure that at least 100 of those views have come from myself - from me going back and re-reading it, or from myself during my hiatus as I worked on putting together the dramatic reading that myself, Will-Owl-the-Wisp, and MelancholyIguana worked on.

Yet, still, 605 views is nothing to sneer at. Quite the opposite, in fact. To me, it's quite impressive. (And this isn't even counting the number of views on my DeviantArt account.) I know I've said this before, but I had always heard that crossovers do not do well on this site. So, I'll admit, I was a bit nervous when it came time to post the story. It is, in a sense, a love letter to two of my most favorite things: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and BioShock Infinite. So for it to have had the reception it did, and for it to still be viewed even so long after it's published, to me, is quite stunning and humbling.

I thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to read it, comment, upvote, shelve it, favorite it, or any combination of these things. It really is an honor.

And as for why I have gone back to read it so many times? Well, beyond wanting the reading to be accurate, it is because, to me, it is one of my personal achievements as a writer so far. It shows me how far I have come from even just my first story on the site. And that, to me, is quite a treasure.
