So as you may have noticed, some things have changed. My username, avatar, and Half-Sisters cover image is now different. With that comes some change. My goal is to completely redo and finish Half-Sisters by August 8th. Why that date? Well, that is the day I start college so it would be advantageous of me to finish before as I probably won't have a ton of time.
Why are you redoing Half-Sisters? I have been toying around with the story for several months and I have tried to revive it. However, the way the story is set up now, I believe it would disappoint. So I'm going to rewrite it and in doing so make it more complex by adding subplots among other elements. My goal is to have the word count between 40,000 and 55,000 words. The original story was only going to be around 25,000 words.
A lot is going to change, pretty much nothing currently released will be in the final story. That said, those chapters will be up until I finish and I am ready to release the story. Another thing, I won't be realizing anything until I complete the story.
As for the title, it most likely will change. I'll change it while I'm writing the rewrite or when I complete the actual story.
To be honest the only reason why I'm completing the story is because there is no other story like mine. Changeling Luna has never been done outside of my own story to my knowledge and I think that's special. I just hope it ends up being good in the end.
From looking at my bookshelves (which happen to have a disproportionate number of changeling-related fics), I could find two stories that involve Luna being a changeling, but both are different to yours in that they have Celestia being a changeling as well:
ā The Alicorn Delusion, where all alicorns (Celestia, Luna, and Cadance) are actually changelings; actual alicorns in fact never existed at all.
ā An Alicorn Secret, where alicorns are mortal, and changelings take their place at death to continue their legacy.
I suppose authors have an (unfair) bias towards other characters, like Celestia, Twilight (two links), and the rest of the Mane 6 (too many to list). Quite surprising considering that I was under the impression that Luna was the more popular princess in the fandom.
As for the rewrite, Iām looking forward to it!

Yes I have read these stories before, however both involve alicorns being changelings and not just Luna. I was disappointed at the lack of changeling Luna stories and that is the primary reason why I even began to write Half-Sisters to begin with.
Also, I wouldn't say that there is a bias towards Celestia and the Mane 6, its just that they are more heavily featured in the show and I suppose it is more interesting to have one or more be a changeling. Though, I think changeling Luna can also be a great fanfiction idea as you can see.
