Now that the dust has settled, I feel the strangest urge to douse you all in my thoughts. On what? I'm glad you didn't ask. Flitter Gets Caught, of course!
As with any story posted by anyone, the hope was that it would do well. That first day when it went 4:1 and then to 10:5 - or something like that - was somewhat dismaying. For a while I was really worried that it had just dropped off people's radar, and that all my hard work was pretty much for naught* (more on that at the end). And then it came back. Oh boy, did it come back.
A featured story?! I'd always hoped, but had never really thought it would happen! The feature box is a mysterious and holy place that belongs to other people; worthier people than I. (Most of the time... *cough*) The experience wasn't at all what I expected though. Where was the flood of commentary? The incessant pings of notifications from people interacting? The discussions on the story's finer points? The theorycrafting on the world around the story?
Well... perhaps because it's a clopfic, and people were, uhhh, busy... ...and maybe I've become spoiled by TLaP's comment section... but the whole situation was strangely quiet. Perhaps that's just how these stories go.
Anyway. It was odd, but lots of fun!
*Since Crystal Wishes was randomly and accidentally exposed to the front cover without any effort on my part, the story was totally a win regardless of how well it did.

Happy you got some well-deserved recognition, even if it was through eyes—and, um, probably other body parts—and not through as many comments as you expected. I'm sure it's... uh... a great story for the right audience! 
If I hadn't've seen it on my own, trust me, there was no shortage of people pinging me about it. Everyone was amused that I am now a rating.
And, hey! I got an achievement, too! My comment has racked up more upvotes than any comment I've left somewhere before. We should throw a party. A... featured clop + comment upvote party. What would the decor for that even look like?
I think a general rule is to not expect a clopfic to do start performing well until night.
