I'm Alive! · 1:42am Jul 4th, 2016
Okay, so you're probably wondering why I was gone for so long. There is the chance you forgot about me and forgot to unfollow, but I hope it's the former.
So, here's what happened: I kind of had to get a job to pay for college, and before I got that job, I started playing DnD, which gave me a bad case of DnD addiction. I finally did get a job after ridding myself of my addiction, but because I was picky, I'm now getting paid to learn about nuclear reactors. I guess it was good I was picky because I got an awesome job, but it's definitely a workaholic's job.
Anyway, I'm going to have pretty low availability from now on. I might write a chapter per month or two on my only really popular story. I'll try to keep it under two months per chapter, but I can't make any promises.
On the bright side, I now have a fresh perspective. I'll be rereading my story, creating diagrams, maps, etc., and I'll hopefully have both some new ways of managing the huge amount of relevant details in my story as well as some new ideas for the story itself.
There's also the fact that I'm still into AI, and I'm studying some interesting new neural network technologies like HTMs, so there could be a few novel ideas that come out of that when combined with a hive mind story. I'll probably be applying ideas from this story to my algorithms, and my algorithms to this story! =D
Now, back to update schedules.
The next chapter will take the most time to update, because I was running into a pretty huge problem with having too many characters and too many important locations, items, etc. to remember. I'll need to draw up things like maps of the areas (possibly 3d solidworks/blender maps), timelines, graphs, personality profiles, etc., to organize everything that's going on. Well, I don't actually need to do all that, but it'll make the story much, much better.
Hmm... I think I might try drawing up the cavern in Tiled.
So uh, yeah... please don't be mad at me? Here's a picture of a cute changeling I found, if it makes you feel any better:
Sweet! I liked your story when I first read it, and I'm looking forward to reading more.
Still one of the of the most interesting premises for a changeling fic. Good to have you back. :D
I did forget about this story, a right shame.
A chapter a month is good, one every two is ok, much more time than that and i'll likely forget about this story again.
DnD? omg!!!!!!! much nerd, so wow!
Life happens,
I love games like DnD.
Nice that you're back
Yay for work!
