I've actually been thinking of adding some collaboration into 'The New Hive' since its inception. I can't really create a realistic representation of humanity all by myself after all.
I know there are a lot of problems with collaborations, the worst being people saying, "No, that didn't happen." However, I think I've added some pretty strong safeguards for anything anyone could think of. That said, I'd much rather not have people trying to derail my story, thank you very much.
But I remember one story I collaborated in that was very enjoyable to participate in. I think its rating went up post collaboration as well. (I was the changeling!)
And one of the main things you tend to get with collaboration, which is something vital to my story, is variety. I can try hard to change my characters, but unless I go to extreme efforts, they'll start adopting my mannerisms, my ideas, etc. Heck, I can't even write about people who are into specific hobbies like martial arts, because I've never tried those hobbies.
So, there are some cons I think I can handle, and some pretty big pros to collaboration. Personally, I think I can handle it well enough, and that it'd turn out to be both fun and productive. However, I think my readers and editors should have a say before I do anything really drastic like this.
Oh yeah, Sorry about the wait for the new chapter. Some of my editors are busy dealing with real life now. It happens.

Well, you'd be a changeling, and you would control your character and their speech/actions/personality/background/etc. You'd also have some control of the surroundings and setting, as long as you didn't do anything too crazy.
The next chapter is going to come out first though. I mean, I already finished writing the next chapter.
Dude I'd love to be a Ling in your story. Sign me up if possible though not sure what I could bring.

Yeah. They would have to have a human name though. But that doesn't mean they can't come up with a name to call themselves once they discover they're a new species for some reason.
You have the ability to walk, run, fly, and receive and modify information on whatever you're focusing on with your horn, in a 'language' you don't understand that differs proportionally with how different the concepts of what you're focusing on are. (You can transform into ponies and other four legged creatures using your horn though, but you have to know that's a possibility to be able to do it, and you wouldn't know about MLP.)
There aren't any classes of changelings in my story, just like there aren't any classes of humans, mammals, many types of insects, etc. There are only the male and female genders. You could change your appearance/abilities over months of activity though, or you could put on different clothes or transform if you want to change your appearance, if you know you can transform.
Basically, your a very strong pony-like creature that can turn on their horn and have almost anything happen, and you can look like creatures that have a similar build as you. (Anyone who would be able to figure out how to use their horn in a single day would have to be a genius. That said, if you happen to be a genius and manage to manipulate the bit-fields I give you in the right way, then you can use magic.)

First, for clothes, they'd need access to a reliable source or a way to make the clothes. Discord isn't reliable. For the new form, you can try, but that's going to be a real pain to work with if you want immediate results.
About the how to rp question, I'm not sure. Just rp like normal, I guess. That's like asking how to hold a conversation... Do you mean the setting? I can't tell you the setting because then I'd be spoiling the story.
You can tell me whatever you like about your character. Really sending me descriptions is just an aid to help you flesh out your character. I would enjoy descriptions, but I don't really need them right now. I was only asking if collabing was a good idea in this post.

No problem. I can't really answer your question though. Collabing, rp-I get, or whatever you call it, is a learned skill, like programming or speaking another language. The only way to figure out how to do it is through practice.

Pony creator avatars here are like Fl Studio default instruments to Electronic music artists; like entirely function based programs to experienced programmers; like slap fighting to martial artists; like playing a game of basketball and dribbling the ball to the wrong side...

4161521 (pony anatomy)When it comes to the pony body (in this case changelings, assuming they have the same joints) they are very flexible and the could basically replicate almost all human and horse movements. Before I go over the the 3 major disadvantages, I must go over the two unique features that make them adaptable. First, the shoulder sockets. Normally, their elbows in forward position like a horse, but what makes them interesting is that they could turn 180 degrees like a human can and point them elbows backwards with no problem. This is due to being no collar bone. Next part is the hoofwrist (I don't know the proper name of it) it's the most unique part of the pony anatomy. This part is near the hoof and is very much like an super flexible wrist. This allows them to grab onto objects. I'm sorry, running out out of time. See ya later.

4162285 A cat has the same flexibility in the wrist but I doubt they're grabbing objects anytime soon. Anyway, the three parts that will affect the martial arts is leg size, no fingers, and flat back legs. I don't have the time to explain it so you could figure it out

Well, the way I like to do it is: I write about one paragraph, then you write about one paragraph, and then we continue back and forth like that whenever our respective characters come up.
