Early New Year's resolutions, and Old Year's conclusions

Well, another year's come and gone. How did the resolutions go? Half and half in my case. Managed to partially accomplish what I set out to do, moving from wondering how to do things to figuring out what to do. I believe I've successfully identified the habits that are hampering or even harmful to me, so that's progress.

    Resolutions for the new year?

Summer update 2: What's Sticking to the Wall?

    Quick update on future plans.

Still working on the original stuff, I think I'm down to the last rewrite of what I wanted to do, only question is what to change in terms of details. Art's had some progress, but work responsibilities and sweet, sweet sleeping problems have caused disruptions.

    Summer update: what next?

Honestly? Not sure. I never publish anything that's not complete, so I'm not breaking any promises there. Thing is, I haven't started on anything new yet, and hadn't lined anything up before the previous one.

Release dates and stuff. · 12:01pm Jun 2nd, 2016

Those of you waiting for episode 3 of the Rumble stories: I'm working towards a deadline of the 19th of June, at the latest.

If you hadn't caught on by the last post on the topic, it had some major issues in the middle and maybe a minor one on the ending, so I'm currently going back and re-reading the first two stories so I can be sure I have good grasp of the character development. Aside from that, some scenes need rewriting, and on the whole it needs to be closer to show look and feel. Here's hoping I pull that off.

That's the story stuff. Stop here if you don't want to read about non-story stuff.

The reason I'm taking this as a deadline is because I've found a job to apply for (nothing new) and it involves using the very skills I've been trying to develop. They're asking for someone who can write well in English (I ken rit Engulash!) and make some articles and animation. The application requires showing proof you're capable of either, so... as long as it's good enough, I've got a fair shot. And the deadline is the 19th.

No, I'm not sending in a pony fic as part of my cv, that would be retarded.

I've basically got two weeks to come up with something good, article and/or animation, and hopefully compete with people who actually studied journalism and communications. It's an environmental group, though, so my scientific background will (hopefully) count for something. And since I'm already so woefully behind on publishing, I've decided to combine the two. Get my act together, so to speak. So my schedule for June is to focus on the application and the Rumble story for the first two weeks, then spend the next two weeks focusing on editing/rewriting/burning my NaNoWriMo novel from last year.

Once the Rumble story is done, I'll be finishing Warrior Meet, which is my Flight Camp sequel. And while that won't take that long to finish, just some individual scenes that need fleshing out, it will take fairly long to upload with a chapter-per-week schedule. So you'll be getting content from me pretty regularly, but it'll be on one particular story only. And again, I'll catch up with the episodes once this third Rumble story is done, so after the 19th I'll finally do that binge I've been promising myself.

Oh, and one more thing: I did the thing. I have a short first draft of a tutorial video, recorded. Probably going to do another take, because my voice acting is not that great, turns out, but it's a start. If anyone's interested in hearing what I sound like irl, I'll see about uploading it to YouTube. But in the meantime, I need to do more research.

Wish me luck.

Cracker out.
