For those wondering why I haven't been doing anything lately

I've been checking the second book I'm going to publish called Lux Locus: The First Awakening. I won't give details right now, but it's a sci-fi fantasy hybrid in the same vein as Warhammer 40K, but with (If I did it right) a balance between grimdark and noblebright with a lot of grays. For the UNIVERSE (not this one book) I have at least 20 alien species (humans included) that will be main

    For my next project

I want to start writing the sequel to my self-published book Reverting Scales. I was going to wait, but it seems it isn't progressing that much in sales, and I don't have the means to pay for advertising.

    Boom! Big Reveal!

Almost done with the Helluva Boss fanfic. Sorry for taking so long. Started working as a...dishwasher. One chap left.

When it's done I'll finish a project I put on hold here then resume Left Behind: Sunny Disposition (it already has two chapters finished, and the third should be done quite quickly).

Mix-Up finished the cover art for Deer Me: Black Snow! Gallery of progression here! · 11:08am May 19th, 2016

Check dis shizzle out:

(You can see mix-up's commentary of its designing here)
Mix-Up finished it after a long time of redesigning the cover art to make sure it looks good and not a mess. Here's his DA
(Do note that I usually only show the final product, but Mix-Up wanted me to show you his progression, so here we go)

This is what he first started with:

As you can see, Grimliss looks...off, but Anglacite is properly there. And yes: He removed Copper Blossom. I hadn't developed her enough at the time and the focus of the story isn't truly on her and Stelimus, but rather the tundra as a whole. Copper will be a consistent character accompanying Stelimus in the sequel, however.

Here's the sketches:

He redesigned Grimliss perfectly and got Effervescence right on his first try (HAX!). She looks adorable! :rainbowkiss:

Here's another group of sketches where he experimented with various different angles and expressions:

And here's another prototype of the cover art:

Doesn't Grimliss just look like the nicest guy?

Next, he wanted to draw Stelimus during the various stages of his age:

I honestly prefer the different shapes of the antlers. Makes him more unique and helps distinguish different deer with the same color scheme. Hmmm. I could use that. More ideas for the sequel concerning deer society:pinkiecrazy:.

Here is a more detailed version of the previous cover art version:

And here's that cover art during its first coloring:

Here is the coloring before it was finalized. You can tell the differences between the one here and the one above by the coloring of certain aspects like the flames on Grimliss and Effervescence's foreleg positioning.

And this is the image right before he added the finishing touches.

No excuse me while I retreat into my scared place as I'm dumbfounded by the quality.

Mix up isn't human I tell you! He's talent given form!

Yup, got to see this posted yesterday, and lovely work.

3956443 Doesn't facebook steal images posted on it?

3956475 i just feel that art this good needs to be shared.

I'll even credit you.

3956696 You should credit Mix-Up for the art and the characters for me, but I digress. I think Facebook steals images you post on the website in its terms of services.

Eeeee! Sequel confirmation! :rainbowkiss:

TBH i'm gonna miss the old cover art, it had a tundra-feeling 'road less traveled' poetic impression.

Yes facebook does steal images.
There'r workarounds, you'll have to google.

3956762 I saved it on my computer, but I can't find it online anymore, so I can't show it to people who liked it as well.

3956822 It's not that I don't want you to. Were it another website I wouldn't mind you sharing it. The problem is facebook itself. Mastermenthe also says it so I'd rather not see it on there...not that I could, though. I hate facebook and am not on it. I'll try and find a way around their theft and I'll tell you if I find it.

3956764 I can't find anything.

3958105 Oooo. I didn't know you could do stuff like that there. Thanks a lot.
