Why I Haven't Updated Recently - In Bullet Points

    - Moved out
    - Thought I had enough money to cover rent
    - Didn't, because the Student Loan Company are a bunch of retards and pay the largest installment AFTER I finish my tenancy agreement
    - Had to take up whatever job I could find (no experience)
    - Only job I could find is in a night club
    - Only working night shifts, 5 nights a week

So I Found Another Deleted Scene from 'The More Things Change' · 11:58pm Apr 19th, 2016

I'm actually starting to wonder why fragments of this chapter keep popping up on my various devices in creepypasta-esque fashion. This is the second or third time now, I think... :twilightoops: I remember writing this scene on holiday whilst waiting for the bus to take us to the airport; that was a while ago now, definitely.

Regardless of the strangeness, enjoy if you're interested. :rainbowlaugh: I believe this scene takes place as Discord has just whisked the group away to the mountains near Baltimare.

She erected a shield around herself, blocking the worst of the icy winds and extending her vision another few inches, though the snow quickly clung to - and began piling upon - the shield, minimising its effectiveness in that regard. Twilight scanned for any sign of her friends out in the blizzard, but found none, "PINKIE!? FLUTTERSHY!? DISCORD!?"

"Twi- ... -re! ... -tch ... -ep!"

Twilight couldn't discern who had called to her, nor what they had said, "WHAT!? WHERE ARE YOU!?"

"-t wh- ... -re! ... -ll co- ... you!"

Twilight span on the spot, but couldn't pinpoint the source of the voice. Regardless, she began trudging forwards as she called out again, "WHERE ARE YOU!?"

"-y pu- ... -e're ... -ay!

Twilight shook her head to herself and meandered in what she hoped was the right direction. It wasn't long before she heard another voice calling to her through the wind, though this time it was much closer.

"-ilight!"

Twilight whipped her head in the direction of what was unmistakably Pinkie's voice, "PINKIE!?" She moved towards the voice as quickly as her hooves would allow through the deep snow.

Surely enough, Pinkie's silhouette could be made out only a few metres ahead through the brief lapses in the wind, along with Fluttershy beside her and Discord's glowing red eyes looming above both, "I'M HERE!" Twilight tried to pick up her pace, hobbling slightly due to the snow's continuous hindrance.

Discord's voice boomed over the wind as he caught sight of Twilight, "TWILIGHT, NO! STOP!"

Before Twilight could even process what he had sad, her heart lurched in her chest. Her forehooves had found no purchase on the ground beneath her, and her entire body toppled forwards before she could even attempt to slow her pace. It only then occurred to her exactly where she was.

As the feeling of falling overtook her, and her control over her shield was lost in her panic, the pieces fell into place. Discord and the others hadn't just been calling out to her in order to find her; they were trying to warn her of the dangers their environment posed.

Disoriented and half-blinded by the raging blizzard, Twilight had wandered over the edge of a cliff.

She barely heard her name being shrieked from above her, the howling wind and the frantic beating of her heart taking precedence as she plummeted downwards.

She screamed. It was all she could think to do, given the circumstances. The snow lashed at her violently as she picked up speed, forcing her eyes shut. With her eyes shut, she had no point at which to direct her magic. Without her magic, she realised, she would perish.

She was briefly reminded of how similar her situation during her fight with Celestia was to her current predicament, but at the same time, one main difference stood out.

Back then, she was defeated and powerless. Here, she had a chance.

Her horn shone brightly as she threw everything she had into one desperate attempt at survival. There was no technique to her magic, no control, nor any discipline; only a raw, powerful will to survive.

Tendrils of magic shot out in all directions, and though she could not see them, she could feel them tearing into the mountainside, jarring her as they were dragged through solid rock.

It wasn't enough. The tendrils lost their hold, and her descend sped up once again.

She screamed again, throwing volley after volley of magic into the rocks around her, terrified of hitting an outcrop and being pulverised at any given moment.

Again, they promptly lost their hold on the slippery, ice-coated rocks.

She kept trying, but her determination was slipping away almost as quickly.

A voice by her ear, "I've got you!"

A loud snap.

The feeling of falling vanished. Opening her eyes, Twilight saw the snow and rocks she had dislodged with her magic tumble past her as she hovered in mid-air.

She breathed quickly, her eyes filled with reflexive tears and wide with terror. She took several stinging - but desperately needed - breaths as Discord appeared before her, an expectant expression on his face, "What did I just say about going on little strolls alone?"

Several seconds passed, filled only with the howl of the wind before Discord folded his arms and sighed, "Giving me the 'cold shoulder', are we?" A wry smile spread across his face.

Twilight flailed madly as she took several more gasps of air in an attempt to calm her nerves and slow her thudding heartbeat, "I'M GLAD YOU FIND THIS FUNNY! I COULD'VE DIED!"

Discord rubbed the back of his neck in mock embarrassment, "I realised that about halfway through your fall when you missed having your head caved in by about four inches." Twilight reflexively ducked her head and grimaced at the revelation. Discord couldn't have stopped the uproarious wave of laughter that overtook him if he tried. Instead, he snapped his fingers. Within moments, both he and Twilight reappeared beside Pinkie and Fluttershy.
