    Season 9 Retrospective

Warning: Season-wide spoilers abound. Proceed with caution.

I need to write this while the emotions of the finale are still fresh in my mind. Though the stories will continue in the comics (and countless fanfics, I'm sure), this is truly the end of an animation era. So, as a final season, did it go out with a bang, or a whimper? Follow me below the break to see my take.

Random Thoughts: The Beginning of the End

Warning: Spoilers abound. Proceed with caution.

Mama pajama, that was a rush. I really feel like something was rekindled here. Season 8 was alright, but I will admit it didn't have the same energy that made me fall in love with this show. This episode, however, had that energy in spades. Follow me below the break as I just gush a bit on what an epic season opener this was.

    Season 8 Retrospective

Welp, that was fun, huh? I know for most of you, the season ended earlier thanks to the Australian broadcast, but I didn't have the luxury of checking that out. Also, I'd rather do things by the book.

    Random Thoughts: The Washouts

Warning: Spoilers abound. Proceed with caution.

Let me just start off by saying great googily moogily, what a weekend this was! I thought Season 7 had scheduling problems, but this was just insane! Well, at least it's still trackable. Unlike some other shows I can mention *cough*TheLoudHouse*cough*.

Warning: Spoilers from the latest episode, Gauntlet of Fire, abound. Proceed with caution.

Why oh why does inspiration strike when I have major school projects due? Oy. :ajsleepy:

Anyway, yeah. This last episode was just a burst of creative inspiration, especially since I have my own stories about dragons that I've been working on for quite some time. Man, I haven't felt like this since, well, Hearthbreakers. It truly is a great feeling, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle soon. Sooner than expected, actually. And this story is going to kick us off. You ready? Presenting:

Peace Porridge Hot
A Comedic and Mysterious Adventure
Starring: Princess Celestia, Gilda, Little Strongheart, OCs, Others

With many new nations wishing to strengthen ties or form ties with Equestria, Princess Celestia sees it only fitting to call the first Inter-Species Conference. All creatures from all walks of life are invited, from the yaks of the north to the Diamond Dogs lurking underground. And no one is more nervous than the newly-appointed Dragon Lord, Ember.

But as it turns out, her worries are not misplaced. A rogue dragon utilizing mysterious magic disrupts the conference and casts doubt on Ember's ability to rule, or if she's even trustworthy. Luckily, she won't be standing alone. Little Strongheart has experience with magical dragons due to a close friend in the Mild West. Together with this noble rogue, her posse, and support from ponies, griffons, and buffalo alike, Ember must now track down this rogue and solidify her authority.

Coming in May 2016

Sounds like an awesome idea you have in the works. You have my attention!

This rogue dragon will learn to RESPECT! HER! AUTHORITAH!

I really need to watch the episodes.

Looks great. It's really smart to incorporate the Buffalo. They have a traditionally respectful view of dragons, which means they must have encountered a peaceful dragon sometime in the past.
