A Moment with Angel Bunny · 4:12pm Aug 31st, 2019
Warning: Spoilers from the latest episode, She Talks to Angel, abound. Proceed with caution.
Okay, I'm not waiting for knightly to make the episode discussion post on this one. I need to get this out of the way now. Because this episode, while cringe-worthy at times, was simply adorable. And it gave us great insight into one of the fandom's most hated characters, Angel Bunny. How so? Follow me below the break and I'll explain.
We all agree that Angel is a spoiled brat, but most of the time, he's a spoiled brat with a point. In earlier seasons, he would act as a safeguard to Fluttershy's oblivious nature. But most of the fandom usually remembers him for acting like a jerk for no good reason. Am I saying he always had a reason? No. There are some things he did which just aren't justifiable. And honestly, this episode is one of those times. Constantly badgering Fluttershy while she's trying to work is just not okay.
Which is why I believe Zecora had the right idea by pulling a Freaky Friday and forcing them to see how the other one lives. Not only did we get some hilarious moments and stellar voice work from Andrea Libeman (though it would be hard for her to top her Fake It 'Till You Make It performance), but with Angel having spoken dialogue, we get to understand him more.
"But Metool! He's still a jerk when he's in Fluttershy's body!" I hear you cry. "How are we supposed to sympathize with that?!"
Simple. We aren't. The whole point was for Angel to realize how selfish he was being and come to understand that he's not the only animal in Fluttershy's life anymore. I feel like that's why we spent so much time with him rather than having equal time dedicated to him and Fluttershy in their out-of-body experiences. He's a jerk, sure. But when it comes to Fluttershy, deep down, he does care. We saw hints of that in earlier episodes, but now, it's on full display. For that, I am truly satisfied.
I for one, loved the episode, and yeah Angel is a jerk but I couldn't imagine the show without him.
anyone getting a erm sorry to say this jock or ''brah'' kinda vibe from angel when he was talking
For me, the highlight of the episode was hearing just how aggressive Angel spoke when he was in Fluttershy's body.
Somehow, it was exactly how I'd have expected him to sound
With that premise, I feel it would be rather done in an earlier Season. Maybe 1 or 2, high chances with 2.

Nah, I think it works in this season because Fluttershy has the sanctuary and the school to deal with. More responsibilities = less time for Angel.
