Equestria Girls Flipped! (Side: Canterlot High part 2)

Alright, so picking up where we left off E!Spike approaches the Canterlot High version of Ditzy Doo to try and get her help. Yeah, he's got plans for how to loosen Sunset's hold over the school and make it clear that he's not just gonna fall in line for her, but there's still a ton about this world he doesn't know about (not the least of which being how to use the technology). Luckily for him,

    Looking for some advice/inspiration.

I'm trying to start a fanfic where the main character has amnesia and I want to avoid the cliche "wakes up going 'where am I who am I?'" approach.

    Thoughts?

Equestria Girls Flipped! (Side: Canterlot High)

So you're all probably wondering what E!Spike is up to while CH!Spike is having fun in Equestria.

Well it starts with him getting to know the local police and their station pretty well.

    Equestria Girls Flipped! (Side: Equestria)

After quite a few failed attempts to start this and a bit of thought I realized it will likely be a lot easier to write (and read) this summary if I divided up the two story lines (Equestria and Canterlot High) and then brought things back together when they actually intersect.

    Therefore, welcome to:

Where Starlight found herself (Part 4) · 12:53pm Apr 2nd, 2016

It was pointed out I forgot two very important characters...

Zecora, Ally of Harmony:

Zecora had lived in the Everfree Forest for years. She knew more of its secrets than anypony would ever care to guess. So much the better that the ponies of Ponyville were frightened of her, choosing to keep their distance. At least, until those two unicorns entered the woods...

Zecora followed them, and witnessed the ritual they were performing near the Tree of Harmony. While at first unsure what it was supposed to do, she knew it couldn't be anything good. The tree, after all, was a cornerstone for the magic of Equestria! Regrettably, she was too late to stop Starlight and Twilight's plans, and the equilization wave struck.

Fortunately, a zebra's flank mark doesn't hold sway over their talents like a pony's cutie mark. The simple drawings only indicated Zecora's familial connections and position, leaving her unaffected by the wave. The blast did render her unconscious, however, and by the time she awoke a new group of ponies were poking at the tree. After a brief misunderstanding, for she believed they were there to do more damage, Zecora introduced herself to Sunburst, Spike, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash.

Zecora does not truly consider herself an ally of the resistance, though she does offer them advice an guidance on occasion. Rather than helping them with tearing down Twilight Sparkle's rule, however, she tries to get them focused on the real problem: Fixing the Tree of Harmony. Twilight's equilization spell did more damage to the tree and Equestria than appearances suggest, something Zecora is keenly sensitive to. She's had a rather hard time convincing anypony else of that, however. Most believe they need to force Twilight reverse what she did.

Sunburst is the only pony that she thinks has the right idea, but even his knowledge of magic hasn't been enough to reactivate the five stone spheres that they recovered from the ruined castle near the tree...

Pinkie Pie, ???

Pinkie Pie was well known in Ponyville. Even if you'd only just got there, chances are she was the first pony you met. Upbeat, cheerful, almost impossible not to like...

Then the equilization wave hit.

At first, everypony was in such a tizzy they didn't notice. Slowly, the ponies of Ponyville realized their bouncy pink party planner had gone missing. But where was she? There wasn't any sign of her, and certainly no indications of an equilized pony that once loved parties and joyful singing. Over time, ponies just stopped wondering and figured she went back to the family rock farm after being hit with the wave.

But a few ponies have doubts about that. The resistance against Twilight's reign spreads vast, and nopony is aware of who its true leader is. Whoever it is, they're incredibly good at coordinating large groups even over vast distances, have an amazing talent for learning about other ponies and keen insight into their desires and motivations (which has left no chance for spies to infiltrate The Resistance), and they're seemingly capable of predicting the future given how many times Twilight's forces have come close to locating them only to reach a recently emptied hideout...

Of course, there's no way such a pony could exist, even before the equilization. Not that Twilight Sparkle hasn't driven herself nearly crazy some days trying to figure out just how this mysterious leader does half the things they do.
