Weekly Death Blog (Week of 3/26 to 4/1) plus a special note to my readers concerning regular blog features · 8:09am Apr 2nd, 2016

Henceforth, the Weekly Death Blog will be posted on Saturdays. I'm combining this week's death blog with a little personal note about all my blogs, especially one particular ongoing blog series, just as a friendly and courteous reminder to my followers and readers. For the sake of not forcing everyone to read the latter, it will be placed after a cut.

The following notable people from the US, Canada, and the UK have died in the past week. The following does not (typically) include sports personalities or political figures. As always, remember to visit Wikipedia for a full list of 2016 deaths.

- Patty Duke, Academy-award winning actress, 69
- Douglas Wilmer, 96, English actor (Sherlock Holmes, Octopussy, Jason and the Argonauts).
- James Noble, 94, American actor (Benson, 10, Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again), complications from a stroke.
- Mother Angelica, 92, American Poor Clare nun, founder of the Eternal Word Television Network.

Now.

Something that needs to be said.

As you know if you've been following me for any length of time, I provide regular blog content for entertainment and informational purposes, including episode/comic recaps and reviews, random gaming blogs, and most notably, the Out of Context Screenshot Theater series, now in its 327th consecutive day.

I don't do this out of any sense of obligation. I do this because I want to. I do it because sharing amusing things like OOCSST is fun for me. I do it because sharing my opinions and views on things is fun for me.

When readers give me grief over an OOCSST post for no good reason, that isn't fun for me. That's stressful for me.

Yesterday's Zero Wing thing was, obviously, an April Fool's joke. It was one of three options I had on tap for April Fool's, the other two being a random image of Ben Stein or a Rickroll.

I received complaints about me "breaking the rules" of OOCSST with the Zero Wing gif.

Let me explain something.

This is my blog. I make the rules. And the rules for OOCSST apply when I'm screening user submitted content. They don't apply to me. I'll post whatever I goddamn well feel like, because this is my blog.

The rules for user submissions exist because I prefer for user submissions to be in line with what I myself choose to post for OOCSST. The rules are there because a lot of people don't understand why I choose the screenshots I choose.

The rules were never meant to apply to me. They're meant to apply as judging criteria for user submissions.

Because in the end, this is my blog, and I have the ONLY say as to what gets posted in it (so long as it doesn't violate site rules).

When you complain about something I choose to post in OOCSST, you are telling me that you feel entitled to a vote as to what goes into a blog series I created and perpetuated of my own initiative, one which I have put a lot of time and energy into, one which I have continued without missing a day for 327 days now.

When you complain about something I choose to post in OOCSST, you are telling me that I am obligated to conform my blog content to your personal tastes, whims, and grievances.

In short, you are telling me you don't like the way I run my own personal blog.

I don't particularly appreciate that. Not when this is something I'm doing because it's fun. That kind of thing makes it not fun, and too much of that might make me start to question why I continue to do this.

I don't want to end OOCSST. Most of you probably don't want me to end OOCSST.

So please, readers, kindly don't make comments that take the fun out of OOCSST.

Thank you. That is all.

Yeesh, some people.

You could have specified that the rules don't apply to you at the time. I actually like the 'all your base' meme, and most other things you put on there.
It was never my intention to take the fun out of OOCSST, and for that, I apologize, and accept whatever punishment you see first.
I also see you made an effort to not name names, I do not regret my actions, and am braced for whatever hatred you or your followers give me.
Again, I am sorry.

3843263 Apology accepted.

This may have passed you by, (unless you mean to include this in next week's) but Ronny Corbett (of The Two Ronnie's fame, their most famous sketch being the Fork Handles sketch), passed on March 31st. I'm not sure how well known he was in the US but it was a sad day indeed here in the UK.

Sorry if you already knew about this and thank you for all you do.

3843342 Saw the entry in Wikipedia but I honestly have absolutely no idea who that is. If the name isn't known to me, I don't usually include it here.

yay for making fun-preventing people (intentionally or not) stop preventing fun!

3843270 Thank you for your forgiveness.

R.I.P to those who have died this week.:ajsleepy:
And people should just chill out and deal with what you pick for the screenshots.
