    Reader interaction poll!

    Please check it out here.

Since comments are a little scarce and I’m new to long-form mature fiction, I wanted to do a quick survey. It’s all anonymous but it’s going to be very helpful because of the content slated to appear in the next few chapters. Your votes will help me gauge reader feelings and the intensity of how graphic things will be.

    Pretty Pony Poems

Lately, I have been going through various complete entries in Missing Pages that were too short to publish. I decided that "Just Weep" shouldn't be left to gather dust there. I've since published it as its own story with the addition of eight new poems about Celestia (and Luna) so that it is long enough to count as a one-shot according to the site's minimum wordcount rule. If you read the

    ICE STAR WROTE HORSE SEX

    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

Yes. I did. Two horses having normal horse sex. It's a completely serious story, but I decided to go out of my usual skill area for April Fool's Day. If you've been following Stay Golden and you want a quick peek of what's to come, this story is for you.

It's also getting a lotta downvotes for not being porn. RIP in pepperoni.

I had a few chapters of backlog left. Or, a modest update.

I started catching up on what I could yesterday when I saw the crazy amount of notifications I had accumulated. It's certainly going to take me a while and then some to read all of the stories that were published recently. I'm not doing too good; I'll have a blog about that sooner or later. Until then, know that I have some updates for Marigold's story that have been edited and are waiting for

Hi, it's been a while since I've been on here. But enough about me. I need y'all's help.

I'll make a blog about the shit I've been up to some other time. Right now, I'm kind of having a huge emergency -- except it's not impacting me. It's impacting my boyfriend. He's disabled and trying to get a car... the problem is his family is filled with other people who are disabled and they have no working vehicle. They live in poverty. I'm broke from getting my friends -- as well as him and

ISPU: Pony aging and lifespans · 12:54pm Mar 26th, 2016

So these will be the headcanon/lore blogs for my stories. Spoilers of any kind will get the spoiler treatment. If needed these will be updated when new stuff happens in my horse words. Also, I type poorly so expect bad spelling. There will be box for these on my page. The tracking tag/header will be ispu. Some will be more in depth than others, and in the case of this particular blog I'm skipping some of the A/alicorn lore and saving it for another post so I can keep this brief (and 'cause I did put pony aging after all). The information in these only reflects what is said in my published stories (and then some). Any relevent stories will be tagged or have excerpts posted here, also: BAD SPELLING. Comments are encouraged.

Alicorns (Like Luna & Celestia) are immortal. Surprise.
Mortal alicorns-which aren't really Alicorns (no lore post on that yet)-can only live for 1,100 years. No exceptions.
Normal ponies can live to be 2 to 300 at most, so Ponyville really is centruies old.
Sirens live a long time. (Sorry I don't have more on them) :twilightblush:

Real life equines (I'm a horse/pony nerd, many terms in my stories will reflect this) are considered adults at 6 years of age (for the space aliens out there humans are often granted the rights of an adult at 18 in many Western cultures, as a comparison). The mane six (along with other cast members like Shiny and Cady) in the show appear to be young adults in terms of behavior and the things they've been allowed to do, such as living alone, running shops, and travelling unsupervised.

After pondering the subject and watching the occasional youtube video on the subject (at some time around 2013-14, before I wrote Crystalline) I decided to put the age for an adult pony at 16. While a 16 year old pony is now the equiv. (I'm sorry I cannot, for the life of me figure out how to spell that some what decently so have an abreviation, I really am sorry about the whole spelling thing) of an 18 year old human (although ponies seem to be more mature :trollestia:). This however, does not apply to any other ages. A 23 year old pony is not the same as a 25 year old human.

So far In my stories pony aging is discussed most in the following passage of Crystalline (my first long story):

From chapter 3:

Cadance: Okay…first thing is first I’m 21 not 17. Shining Armor, who’s horn you inlaid with magic blocking crystals is 22, his little sister Twilight Sparkle the purple unicorn is 17 and her friends Rainbow Dash (the blue pegasus), Pinkie Pie (the pink one), Rarity (the white unicorn), and Applejack (the orange earth pony) are also all 17 give or take a few months from each. Fluttershy the yellow pegasus is 18. Spike the dragon-

Don't remind me. He [Sombra] grumbled.

-is 10.

And there you have it! My first lore blog. Perhaps I'll do the aging of other species if I have anything on them. Any suggestions for what I should do next? Remember, this is about the au lore in my stories, and don't think you can trick me into giving out spoilers! :rainbowwild:

And what about changelings? :trixieshiftright:

I quite like the idea of ponies living for 200+ years... kinda like the Hobbits from Tolkien lore. Or dudes in the Bible. It would explain quite a lot of discrepancies in the show, including the foundation of Ponyville.

Thanks! I love thinking about stuff-like ponies! :rainbowwild: And both ponies and hobbits are little...maybe they're onto something...

As for changelings? Hmm, I haven't done anything with them yet but maybe when I have the time (of which I have plenty, as you can probably tell by how many horse words I release) I can work on a short story with them. They are in no way boring, I guess I'll just have to learn a bit more about insects...*shudders*

Oh, and did you know that the oldest man in the Bible is still alive? He's seen some stuff by now, he's seen everything... :twilightoops:
I still remember an old science teacher of mine saying that if something lives long enough edventually it gets cancer (which probably is not the most accurate way of putting it), so a non-magical Biblical existance could have been way more hellish if you look at it that way.

Considering how long dragons live, I'd like to think that they become mature at around 30 - 40

So when do they get midlife crisis? :trollestia:

3868333 Maybe at 500-800? usually more towards 600.
Screw it, your the author, they have crises whenever you want.

I'm always amazed how much strife Equestria gets itself into given Celelestia's longevity. You would think having seen the majority of senarios played out over thousands of years, she'd play the long game and most eventualities would be forseen. Perhaps I'm confusing longevity with omnisentience?
