I'm a little stuck, so I figured I'd turn to the readers · 10:26am Mar 24th, 2016

I'm having trouble deciding what Chrysalis and her girls will be getting as a pet, so I'm having those of you who have been following the story make some suggestions. The main rule here is their pet has to be comfortable in an subterranean environment, in other words it either needs to burrow on its own or live in tunnels for some reason.

I look forward to to your contributions.

Salamander.
The lizard version of the phoenix.
With a preferred living environment of volcanic tubes that are heated from magma near said tubes and a diet consisting of lesser ores and minerals including, but not limited to, limestone, fool's gold and hematite, it's already accustomed to an underground environment.
And being of an incendiary nature, it's perfect as a pet to half-dragon hybrids!
Get yours today!

Yes, that was a shameless attempt at a '50s or '60s sales pitch.
I regret nothing.

3824095 Okay, now that you got the half-dragon/half-changeling children having a pet dragon out of the way, what is your actual suggestion?

3824122 That was my real suggestion
I didn't mean the Salamander concept of the dragon sub-species.
I meant the Salamander creature that's literally just a lizard on fire. I know there's another name for them, but I'm buggered right now, so Salamander is the only name I can think of.

It's already on fire, so you know it's fire-proof, which means the kids can't hurt it.
I somewhat stole the volcanic tubes from both Ocarina of Time and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.
And the worthless stone consumption I made up as I wrote it, mostly because it genuinely would keep food costs down.

3824138 Well yeah, the kids can't burn it, but they could still hurt it with their claws if they're not careful. That is a good suggestion, and thanks for clarifying that bit for me. I think what you're referring to is commonly referred to as a fire lizard, that would be interesting to see (considering Fluttershy lives in a tree).

3824196 I'd imagine something that lives near lava to have resilient enough skin to avoid being accidentally shredded. Purposely, I doubt it'd survive, but with the proximity to lava, it'd have to be able too endure the lava itself, if only briefly, in case it ever accidentally fell in.

As for Fluttershy, she'd probably have a stone tunnel in her yard where it lives.

I notice that you have very few suggestions here, so i feel I should at least say something.
My stupid idea is that you make a creature to be the pet using animals with traits that you want it to have.
There are lots of made up creatures in the mlp universe anyway. :pinkiehappy:
