    Quick Question

I feel like most fluttercord fans have moved on. And I have no right to ask because I am the worst at keeping promises, but if I ever finished a weird "Beauty and the Beast" fluttercord-style, would you read it?

    "Discord's Patchwork Adventure" by Comicizzum

I know it's been a long time, and I know I probably don't really have a lot of followers anymore since so many have moved on from the fandom, but I tend to hold on and never let go. And in doing so, I found an amazing fluttercord story that features romance (obviously), touching friendship scenes that show it ISN'T just the romantic relationship that matters, a large amount of beloved side

Um... New Story Maybe and Also I'm Sorry

I know. It's been too long

    I'm sorry.

I'm writing a new one shot though. I missed writing. I never left the fandom, but life got busy. And it is still very incredibly busy.

    I Have Changed My Mind!

So I hardly EVER split chapters into two separate parts. I've done it before, but only like once or maybe twice. But then Phoaray (an awesome writer, btw, I highly recommend his Twixie/Fluttercord story, Hopes and Follies), suggested that I consider it. I originally told him that I didn't really do that, and gave him a really gross metaphor

Cartoon Kangaroos are Lies · 8:53pm Mar 21st, 2016

So I was start ing to write some more of chapter 8 and started thinkin' about kangaroo pouches. And ya know what guys?

TV isn't always right! Sometimes, cartoons can ACTUALLY lead you astray from how things really are.

One of these things? A kangaroo's anatomy. Particularly, that of a kangaroo's.

So when you think of a kangaroo, I imagine an image sort of like this comes into mind:

m
DAWWWWWWW, HELLO KANGA FROM WINNIE THE POOH! Ain't you such a good mama, what with Roo and all.

BUT WAIT!

Is the kangaroo pouch REALLY like that? Like a giant pocket that goes around the stomach? Because that's how I pretty much describe it for Fluttershy's kangaroo pouch as a Draconequus.

Have I, the author, led my dear readers astray?!?

Nooooooooooo!

Well, I feel it is my responsibility to show you how kangaroo pouches are in the real world. Here's a picture!

It kinda looks like a giant hidden belly button.

And another for good measure.

And here's the wee little baby boo inside the pouch, newborn. Fact: He climbed up the mother from the vagina to get in there. They are basically born with mountain climbing as their first occupation.

Kangaroos can have up to four joeys at a time, but this is not usually the case. It's usually just one. However, they can let two joeys suckle at the same time, but they are usually different ages. Apparently, female kangaroos are pregnant a lot.

AND before anyone asks, yes, the really young babies defecate and urinate in there. Some of the lining can absorb it, but mostly, the mom has to clean it out. And while they're growing, they hold on to the teats inside like a lifeline until they're old enough to wean off them.

Here's a video if you'd like to see more about a kangaroo's pouch. It's what I watched for this investigation, because I like to know my stuff when I write about it.

However, for My Little Draconequus: Wishing is Chaos, I'm just going to imagine her pouch being like the false cartoon ones. Just because it's easier for me that way.

But at least I've properly told you the TRUTH! My conscience is clear!

Well, sort of. I still have to finish this chapter.

But still!

Yeah, nature is really good at evolving things as tightly packed and clear cut as possible. Perfectly out of the way when no babies are inside. If something is huge looking, then it must be for a reason.

3819242 Indeed. Mother Nature must be miffed at all the cartoon animals that are anatomically incorrect.

I don't think it matters too much when you're writing cartoon animals. After all, it's not like the multi-coloured ponies are realistic. :)

3819277 You mean they're NOT??? :pinkiegasp:

Did anyone miss the key word 'Cartoon'. Who thought that was ever realistic?

AYYYYYYYyyyyy!!! As an Aussie I am happy with this information becoming known.

3819504 I'm glad it does, friend! :pinkiehappy: I've always had a fondness for kangaroos, so I'm glad to know it too.

Though I've actually known about the babies climbing up the mom for a few years now. But the pouch I knew nothing about. But man, kangaroo babies are the most epic of them all.

Winnie the Pooh lied to us. :fluttercry:

3819689 Let's sue!

...Also, why is it "Winnie the Pooh"? Does anyone EVER actually call him "Winnie"? Ever??? And what's a Pooh, anyway? Last time I checked, a Pooh Bear wasn't an actual type of bear.

THIS SHOW IS SO CONFUSING AND WRONG!

3819750 Mine too Missy. Mine too. But we must stay strong. For the children.

3819759 I can't do it, Tater, it's too much! Go on without me!

3819849 NOOOOOOO! LITTLE BARNABY NEEDS YOU! LULU NEEDS YOU!

BEAVER DAM IT I NEED YOU!

3819893 I'LL TRY THEN, I'LL TRY! FOR YOU, GIRL!

While I enjoy learning from my entertainment, I do take everything with a grain of salt. There was an episode of the Simpsons where Bart tried to jump in a kangaroo pouch and immediately got out again, disgusted. And that pretty much reminded me that it probably wasn't the nicest place to sit unless you were used to it.

I use Rufus from Kim Possible as my reminder of the difference between reality and fiction. Rufus: Cute, naked mole rat, would like to own one if I ever had a pet. Mole rats in reality? Disgusting, hairless, wrinkly little critters.

I take no issue with Flutters not being anatomically correct. She is, after all, not a real kangaroo after all, so some anatomical inaccuracies don't seem out of place. Being anatomically correct within each part of her stitched-together anatomy would, after all, have an internal logic, that is, make a sort of sense and what fun is there in that?

Looking forward to the next chapter. Happy writing Taters.

If you would like your childhoods to be ruined further, Winnie the Pooh's skull is currently on display at the Hunterian Museum in London.

3820805 So you're telling me Pooh wasn't based just on a teddy bear but also a black bear named Winnie, even though Pooh is never called Winnie? And isn't a black bear?

3820829

Yup. EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS A LIE

3820805 Oh my god! :rainbowlaugh: I didn't expect that. But actually, no, it was ruined for me a long time ago when I discovered these comics that were part of the original comics, only Pooh is a complete dick. (there's a whole bunch of them, only some are edited, but for the most part, they're real)

cdn.iwastesomuchtime.com/12420132204181.png

3820946 OH MY GOSH. :pinkiegasp: Now my childhood really IS ruined.

3820314 TBH, I really wasn't worried about my little mistake on Fluttershy's part, though I really DO like to try to research things before I write about something I might need it on. I did that a lot for last chapter, and some for this one. But I honestly just find kangaroos fascinating, especially when it comes to their mountain-climbing underdeveloped babies and their anatomy. So I just felt the need to share it with you guys. And besides, I thought kangaroos were like the cartoons too! But now I know the truth! And really, it's much better that way. A cartoon pouch would snag on things...:twilightoops:

TO ANYONE READING THIS, ANYONE AT ALL: I am happy to report that I have finished writing the chapter overall! Now I just need to edit it and smooth out some REALLY rough parts. Like the beginning. And middle. And some of the end. But I'm hoping to publish tomorrow!!!! :D
