In which I talk about "Emissary of the Hive". Spoilers after the page break.
Chapter fourteen. Wow. So very near the end now.
Anyway, in this chapter we get to see Chance approaching Princess Celestia (and Luna and the mane six) in the hopes of convincing them to offer a peace deal to the changelings. She's mostly successful (yay! Something that didn't go terribly wrong for our protagonist!).
We also get to see what that royal essence that Drymanid and Pupa had been talking about last chapter is all about. I'm pretty sure most of my readers had more or less figured that one out already, but now I am willing to state it here. Basically, it's the changeling method of creating their equivalent of an alicorn, in this case known as a royal changeling, biologically speaking, not politically. Chance is turning into a queen! Woo!
In other news, Jade Flare starts to make his move by infiltrating the dungeons, shelling a guard, and I don't think I'm spoiling much by explicitly saying that he's shelled Nutcase too. There goes one of our villains, her mind completely destroyed by another one of them in preparation for his own plans. I'm sure some people will be very happy to see her get this punishment, though a smaller number may be uncomfortable with the destruction of her mind when she was already being punished through imprisonment.
I don't feel like doing too much rambling today, so I'll end this blog post here. Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter.
