    Bookish Delight (FINAL)

    (sort of)

    Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

Did you think it was over

...yeah, that's fair, so did I. Still need to talk about that when I'm able. Until then...

    ELa Famille Royale
The Zephyr Heights royals just helped change the world. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've done so, and they'll have to answer for that... just as soon as they work on themselves.

    Question For the Crowd!

What, in your opinion, are Equestria's most significant locations? (i.e. Canterlot, Cloudsdale, etc.)

Please keep it to... oh, top 7, and excluding Ponyville/the Everfree Forest.

Thanks to all who answer!

you've been working on a single fanfic for 35 days straight

the draft is still maybe only 60% done

and it keeps evolving

and you're trying to keep it under control while micromanaging arcs and characters and dynamics and events and making sure everything ties into everything else and the story keeps changing and screwing you over and it really doesn't seem like this will ever end

oh and the other day you realized YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE WRITING ONE STORY

BUT IT WAS REALLY ME, UNEXPECTED MAGNUM OPUS

and yet

somehow

you find it in you to keep going and keep making it better anyway

...still really tired tho ;_;

i guess what i'm trying to say is that the new auto-approval feature doesn't impact me all that much :(

I had something. Then I lost it.

*Takes a deep breath*

Ahh...You smell that? It's the smell of-

Wait smoke...Oh gosh...Slow down! Slow down a core meltdown is imminent.

3772487

no it's fine

meltdown means shutdown means blissful rest :pinkiecrazy:

Also I'm having fun writing this. just, y'know, tiring fun

3772491 Nothing beats burning midnight oil writing outlines or chapters. :rainbowdetermined2:

Keep at it yo. But always remember to change the coolant* in the reactor less you overheat.

*Also known as drinking iced tea or lemonade. Or maybe even iced tea lemonade mixed. You know that actually sounds refreshing right now...

All that hard work shall be worth it in the end. We all know this.

3772520

And then it goes to my editor! :pinkiehappy:

(Believe me, no one is more :raritydespair: than me about this. Fragging story just kept getting bigger.)

I have some idea of how you feel. I've had something like this happen, only it got way out of control and I did far less micromanaging than I should've. Oh, and I published each chapter when it was finished, so the thing lingers on my story page like a mark of dishonor, mocking me with its "On Hiatus" tag.

Still, you're being a lot more thorough than I was. I have every confidence that you'll pull this out, and that it will be fantastic.

Just think how good it will be to finally get it out of your system. It's a good motivator.

It is like a living thing, always changing, always growing.

Tzeentch is writing fanfics again. :facehoof:

I think Jojo's meme's might be one of the best things to come from that manga/anime.

And it's a pretty amazing anime all on its own.

Anyway, it'll happen when it'll happen, but I bet it gonna be gooooood. :raritywink:

you find it in you to keep going and keep making it better anyway

So what you're saying is, you're filled with DETERMINATION?

So this would be what prompted that blog post, eh?

Sounds familiar. Hope it turns out the way you like it in the end.

3772491 Graceful shutdowns are for noobs anyway. Real pros go down trailing smoke and shouting "brace for impact!". It's more fun that way. :raritywink:

Only kindasorta?

The story was actually going well so I went ahead and made an entry for it on fimfic--and then I remembered why I had to take a break from it in the first place. And I was all "should I even bother? People just seem to want blood and retribution these days." (srsly cutie re-mark brought out the worst in everyone)

So I made the post.

3772539

I was wondering where that was. :rainbowderp:

3772534

Oh, and I published each chapter when it was finished,

Yeaaaaaaaaah, that's the kiss of death. :rainbowlaugh: It's why I don't post anything until it's finished anymore. To say nothing of how sometimes feedback can actually demotivate you from finishing the rest! Best to just get it all done first.

(srsly cutie re-mark brought out the worst in everyone)

Not me! Mostly because I still haven't watched it on account of approaching every season finale since A Canterlot Wedding with a high degree of trepidation.

The closest I get to liking War Poniez is XCOM crossovers, anyway. Maybe there's some great blood and guts war story out there, but I'm skeptical.

tfw this basically summarizes my entire writing life.
I suppose it's a good thing, though, in its way. It means the idea is alive and thriving, and more than that, strong enough to hold all this new narrative weight and still keep its shape.
Annoying as hell to work through, sure, but heck, what isn't? XD

DIIIIOOOOOOO!!!!!
