New (completed) story is up! · 5:06pm Feb 14th, 2016
So, as promised, my Rainbow Dash x Big Mac story was published and is ready for reading!
The link to it is tagged to this blog post.
I'm fairly happy with this one, but I do feel like I rushed the end a little, or that it got a little bland, that I could have said things in a better, more articulately, saying ways that may show a deeper emphasis. Something like that.
But like I said, I'm happy with it.
I may edit in future, but for now, I feel content with leaving it and using it as a learning experience. That way, I can also see my progression.
Though writing is just a hobby, I still take pride and enjoyment in my work.
Well...wouldn't be much of a hobby if I didn't enjoy it.
So yeah...MacinDash.
Let it be said that I am not a raving mad shipper, though my stories would suggest otherwise. I enjoy romance stories, and find them some of the most appealing. I enjoy my ships, but I don't covet them. I enjoy the writing and the passion in the stories. Also, when an author can capture the most precise characterisation and atmosphere. These are brilliant moments, and not found solely in romance fictions.
But like I said, I enjoy shipping, I'm just not mad about it.
...
With the acceptation of Applejack and Spike.
Anyway, as for the MacDash (MacinDash, or whatever) ship, I can honestly say that I greatly enjoy the stories that come out of this pairing; it can be cute. But this is my standard opinion with most ships: I can enjoy the stories, and can love the authors portrayal of the characters, though I may never 'ship them' outside of the story.
In this instance, there was a contest, and seeing as how I am part of the group, I figured I should at least contribute something. Though I am not the most seasoned MacDash writer (by that I mean, not at all) I still gave it a shot, and I enjoyed it.
It is certainly an interesting pairing to write. I felt that I had a vision of how it may work, but found myself struggling to actually write it down. I didn't want it to be overly fanciful. I wanted it to be in someway believable.
When it comes to shipping in general, I find that I'll have my preferred, 'dream team' as it were, of Main ships, and then other/alternate pairs which you can appreciate. I would assume that every ship appeals to different people, but it can also be influenced by their other ships.
But hey, I may be wrong. You tell me.
Personally, I prefer Soarin x Rainbow Dash, but for those of you reading this, I'd certainly recommend checking out some MacDash stories; there are some good ones out there!
Anyway, that's all from me for now. But in-keeping with the Hearts and Hooves day attitude, what's your favourite ship? Do you have many? Do you have your own 'dream squad' of ships?
See ya later, guys.
Stay awesome, and have an awesome Valentine's day.
...
Or just an awesome Sunday if you prefer.
Everyday is awesome in its own way.
My preferred ships:
MacDash, because it's adorable and my favorite.
FlashLight, because it pisses people off, and because for no reason I swear, I am perfectly happy with the young soldier hooking up with the hot princess.
SoarinJack, because pie and their colors match well.
SweetieSpike, because they danced at the wedding and damn if that's not enough for me.
The only ship I have a somewhat rabid devotion to is Sparity, but I understand that it's not a lot of people's cup of tea. I just think there's been too many hints in the show that they'd be good for each other ("Secret of my Excess," anyone?). And anyway, I'd love to see Spike's dreams come true.
The other ships I only have a very passive devotion to are... AppleDash, FlutterPie, and TwiMac.
As to your story, I fav'd it, so I obviously thought it was well done. MacDash isn't a ship I think a lot about, but it's so darn cute when I find a good story about it.

I think this is very much my own take on most a lot of ships.
3753869 I'm aware that some people just write shipping stories without being passively devoted, but it does seem that MacDash and SoarinJack shippers tend to be the same people. Maybe it just appeals to a different audience.
But hey, who doesn't like pie? Who wouldn't use it as shipping bait?
That FlashLight statement was most excellent.
Heathen! MacDash is all! MacDash is life! Lol. Just playing. It is my favorite, as it's all I write.
SoarinJack is my second, I feel like there is a lot that can be done there, and ever since I saw Zap Apples on the show, one way or another a Wonderbolt is marrying into the Apples to make that a thing.
My third is a tie between Fluttershy with Braeburn or with Bulk Biceps.
Anyway, I loved your MacDash story and hope to see more of if from you.
3756524 Really feeling the pressure to deliver.
I'll do my best.
