S6E07 - Newbie Dash [Minor spoilers-ish; depends how sensitive you are] · 6:39pm May 8th, 2016
So the new episode was...yeah, I have a lot of conflicting feelings on the episode.
Let me give some background.
Since the synopsis for the episode was released on EQD, Lancelot (my eyes and ears in the fandom news) and I have been fearing the worst. We both expressed concerns of it not being serious enough and too...childish, which feels really stupid when you watch a kid's show.
Let it be said, that just because a show is targeted for kids, doesn't mean it should be sloppy, but one should also realise that more 'juvenile' humour, is to be expected and should not be complained about.
Anyway, I spent my entire time watching the episode looking for reasons to be relieved of these fears, and it did come. But afterwards while reflecting on it, I did feel somewhat disillusioned to some aspects.
I understood the Wonderbolt's teasing moments, but sometimes it felt like a bit much.
Overall, it was a good episode, just went down a different path I would have chosen for accomplishing the same outcome.
For those of you are Soarin x Rainbow Dash shippers, have fun trying to sift the wheat from the chaff. Some bits made him look awesome...some not so much. He comes off as a bit of a jerk at first, or at least, kind by easily swayed.
RIP SoarinDash shippers.

But here comes my bit.
As a Fan fiction writer, I feel somewhat compelled to react to episodes the form of a good tale.
But this all comes back to a blog post that I wrote some time ago; about having ideas, but not all should be written.
I recognise potential in these ideas, but rarely do I fell ready to write them into a good story.
Plus, even if I did, someone else would have already written one.
Also, as we say in Wales, 'mynadd'.
Short for the welsh version of the phrase, "I can't be bothered."
So in the end, I kind of wish to write something from this story, but I've felt very much the same way about other episodes, but I rarely do anything about it.
