The Story Post #1 - Tango's reaction.

It's Thursday and on Thursdays I'm going to post something I call, the Story Post.

In story posts I'll reveal some details about one of my stories that is tagged, like what inspired this or that scene or why I wrote this and all sort of neat little details.

The first story up is Tango - Chapter 7. Tragedy.

What people may or may not know is that I lost my oldest sister in 2013 due to complication related to her pregnancy. Her daughter fortunately survived though she was prematurely born. That loss was a heavy blow for all of us in the family and quite frankly I nearly just stopped writing all together because of it. This is one of the many reasons the Time Keeper took so long to write, two characters I was using in it, Foxy Stripes and Dew Doe, are heavily inspired from her and it was just painful for me to write anything with them in it at the time.

Anyway, when I was writing Tango and I came finally to the chapter where he learns that Vanilla Cream was killed in a gang attack, I pretty much based his reactions in the hospital exactly on my reactions from the point we went to the hospital to learn of my sister's death to how I pretty much broke down at the wake when we said our final goodbye. It's not word for word but almost the exact same feelings.

That chapter and especially the hospital scene were really hard to write and I almost chickened out and let Vanilla survive.
