...I really never wanted to be in this position, yet, here I am.
For you see, as I sat at my computer tonight, trying to work on the next chapter of this fic and becoming increasingly stymied, I went back and re-read the earlier chapters to try and...mentally refocus myself and remind me where I was going with this story. Reading those pages, a few things became abundantly clear to me.
This story kind of sucks.
Sun is insanely reactive, despite being one of the main characters in this story. Despite being an angry, political firebrand she doesn't come across like that at all. Her inner conflict of needing to feed but not wanting to hurt others is easily diffused by being able to go hunt in the Everfree. I included all of the Mane Six in the story out of a sense of obligation that they should be there, rather than for any actual reason in the story. And many, many other problems that it has.
But probably the biggest one is, that I realized as I worked on this, that I have completely forgotten about telling a story about the characters instead getting lost in showing off how "cleverly" I turned the World of Darkness into My Little Pony. This is one of the cardinal sins about writing a bit of crossover fanfiction and I walked right into it like a dumbbell.
No! Bad fanfiction writer! No biscuit!
So, for now, it's on hiatus. It will be back when its not a...train wreck? Light car wreck? ...Fixed. It will be back when its fixed.
