Well, this was delayed more than necessary. It was mostly due to personal problems. Life just sometimes gets in the way and this blog, for the very few who read it, just isn’t a high priority on my very long list of #$%@ to do.
Now while this blog was supposed to be joined with Chapter 6, I felt it best to split the load. It was a good idea, because, even though Chapter 8 was easy to write, Chapter 9 is a pain in my flank that may also end up being split in half.
Now, do you know what the hardest part about chapter 7 was? Guess. You’ll never get it right, but guess anyway.

Alright, I’ll tell you the answer.
It was thinking up pony names. Yeah, that was what I struggled with the most in Chapter 7. There were five here: Diamond Solitaire, Corporal Skies, Sergeant Jetstream (Chapters 6 and 7 were originally supposed to be the same, remember), Hexxus Incantus, and Dr. Hemos. Each had very specific roles to play, so I needed names tailored for each pony. The Corporal and Hexxus were the only ones I came up with myself, and I had to fight tooth and nail in order to get them. I got Hexxus from Fern Gully, if anyone noticed. Lol. But even with those two names, I still had three more to go. After about an hour of staring at an empty word processor with stupid placeholders for three ponies, I started reaching blindly for whatever I could get.
My first stop was the rumandmonkey pony name generator. After about 10 minutes of very stupid names, I decided to do it two more times, one for Diamond and one for Jetstream. I forced myself to accept whatever the generator gave me, and I ended up with decent names. Thank God.
That only left the doctor. Due to a lightning bolt from Thor, I was struck with inspiration for his name: Doctor Fetus Hemos, the vampire from Terror Trax. Why?
...I don’t know. It stuck. And I based his personality after the doctor from Star Trek: Voyager. And before you ask, no, I don't like Star Trek: Voyager.
Now I wasn't entirely satisfied with Chapter 7 because not much was stated that readers couldn't reason out on their own. Hexxus and Diamond both concluded that there are two intrudrs in Equestria, not just one. But readers, using their own intuition, probably figured that out with Sergeant Jetstream's scene at the end of Chapter 6. Who or what the other intruder is, has yet to be revealed, but I promise I have many more surprises than you think you see coming. You'll see what I mean during Chpater 8.
There's really not much else to this chapter. Lightning updates Celestia and Twilight with her knowledge and... that's it.
Well, there was Pinkie. I could never forget Pinkie. Her scene, however short, was difficult to write because I can't do comedy that well. It's just never been my forte. I grew up watching action movies that have grand scales and high stakes. I'ma child of drama, not much else. Using the phrase with the pun fully intended, I am a one trick pony. But I believe Mic and Jackle; there's no harm in playing with what you know

I posted on the story update section in my profile when the next chapter will be out. Plan accordingly. Because even though it starts in chapter 9, you can still see that there's something awfully, awfully wrong going on during chapter eight.

That's number nine, anyway. Plus, the rating is still for teen, so I will keep it tame. If my editors believe what I will write is too extreme, I'm switching ratings, moving the smut to it's own chapter (10), and keeping the awesome stuff in chapter 9.
Either way, chapter nine will be a game changer. But even still, once we meet up with the Crafter in chapter 8, we figure out that there is something very, horrifyingly wrong with [REDACTED] [REDACTED]
