So without my latest and greatest fic addiction, I am aimlessly seeking some other source of catharsis to tide me over. I tried giving writing another shot. Funny how I managed to essentially bang out four novels once upon a time, but try as I might this fanfic business is nothing to sneeze at. I have infinitely more respect for those entertainment writers who have to abide by some kind of show bible. At least fanfic authors get to muck around with the rules a bit more!
I keep thinking I just need to simplify. I've always wanted to write a straight up romance, but I keep complicating it with some kind of silly adventure plot. I mean, I like adventure and all the perils of it, don't get me wrong. But it does tend to get in the way of achieving that "catharsis" I mentioned before.
Ah well... If I can't hit some kind of stride in the next 40 minutes, I'm just going to resume my search for a new fic to read. First up to try was this Vinyl/Octavia fic that was apparently super popular. If that doesn't work, then I dunno. I really just want something that I can get lost into, and I'm a pretty voracious reader. It'd have to be something really long and romance-centered. (If you have any suggestions, they're more than welcome! I have no favorite couples atm--just anything well written will do.)
